Is the Non-CA Key Fob Waterproof?

Like a boob, I forgot to check my pants pocket when I did my laundry today. Along with my wallet, my key fob, and a bunch of receipts (which then got shredded to pieces in the washer) got left in the pants and went for a ride in the gentle cycle.

Does anyone know if the non-ca key fob is waterproof? I took it out and tried it. It still worked. I also picked it up and shook it to listen for any "sloshing" sound inside. Nothing. I hope it is, but at this point I'm glad I have a second key fob.

All's well then, since it still works.

If it wasn't dress pants... or if they weren't expensive I'm not sure if I would have the patience to clean that up.

Oh it was tough bro...thankfully there was just a gob of it stuck all in the pants pocket (they were actually khakis thankfully, I take my slacks to the cleaner.)
Lots of ice, and isopropyl alcohol, and a firm toothbrush (thanks to google)!

Definitely not waterproof, but I've also washed mine by accident, and it's continued to work for the past year.

Electronics and water don't mix *well*, but they also don't always spontaneously combust in a puff of smoke either. Low power stuff like the key fob may not have any issue at all. It's (somewhat) common IT practice to bulk-wash grimy keyboards in the dishwasher, and it doesn't cause problems as long as they're good and dry before you apply power again.

Thanks guys. Not my brightest moment. I had an 18-hour turnaround after a 10-day trip, so I was throwing everything into the washer, while going through the mail, play with the kids, talk to the wife, etc. Life as a road warrior.
