Need Advice.. Rough Idle
Have a 07 335i 60k miles, twice in the past week I have punched it when trying to pull out into oncoming traffic and the check engine light has come on. When I slowed down to a stop light its runs really rough. I appreciate any advice

You are getting a misfire for some reason. It could be your plugs, coils, injectors, fuel pump etc... many things.
To read the code, you need to bring your car to an auto store so they can plug a code reader into your OBD II port and tell you the code. Then come back here to tell us what the codes are. Is your car stock?

I meant try switching it with a coil from one of good cylinders. Then order a new one if the ecu says the misfire moved to whatever cylinder you put the coil from 5 onto.

As said above, don't waste $30 buying a new coil if you don't know for sure that's the cause of your misfire. By swaping the coil, what mike meant is you should first take the coil on cylinder 6 and move it to cylinder 5, and vice versa. Then drive your car around again until it starts misfiring again. After that, go back to advance auto parts to see if the misfire still comes from cylinder 5, or if it has moved to cylinder 6. If it has moved to cylinder 6, it means that your coil is the culprit and needs to be replaced. If it stays on cylinder 5, then you need to change your plugs first and hope it will fix the problem. If it doesn't then there is a great chance the injector is bad and chances are the dealership will have to change all 3 injectors on that bank (cylinder 4,5 & 6) which isn't cheap.

Ok thanks guys, I am going to change the spark plugs this weekend, got the spark plug adapter from Snapon wiht "Free" overnight shipping. I will also fill up with Shell this weekend. Is there anyway to reset the 'service engine soon" ?

Also, when you replace your spark plugs, make sure you don't use anti-seize!!! Otherwise you'll risk breaking the spark plug in the head and then you'll be screwed. Torque to 17 ft.lbs. If you don't have a torque wrench, then hand tight the spark plug, then use a ratchet to go another quarter of a turn.
