Selling car in 12 months, need new tyres...runflats or not?

Hi all,

I'll be looking to sell my car in around 12 months time but need to get some new tyres fairly soon. I've moved away from the runflats for myself but do you think putting some back on this time around will make it more saleable to the majority of people?

It's an 06 330i.

Depends on whether private or a dealer I think.

When I was part-x'ing my 320D, the dealers I went to (3) checked the tread and whether they were runflats.

As one dealer said, they check because a lot of people change them to non-runflat, but don't add a spare or a even a can of tyre sealant.

He made out that it would be illegal for them to sell a car with non-runflats and no spare wheel or sealant. I don't know whether that is true or not?

It's not true.

I'd fit whatever you want. You're selling in a year.

Thanks for the feedback guys. If I do a dealer trade in, it won't be with BMW so I don't think they'll pick up on it too much and I've got a compressor and sealant in the boot that I could also trade in if needs be.

Think I'll go with the Goodyear F1 AS2's that plenty of people seem to be happy with in this thread.

^This. Without question.

If you want to make yourself feel better when you sell, you could buy a can of tyre sealant - but if you've been running normal tyres, I would have thought you'd have one anyway?
