Some people will sell anything and some people will always buy it.................on another not, I wouldn't want that wheel anywhere near my car, no matter how good a repair it had, madness

Tbh, it probably COULD be repaired. I've seen worse end up looking like new.
If I could repair it, I'd buy it to prove a point, advertising sort of thing. Probably not for £50 though. |

£50 hasn't met the reserve!!
If it was repaired though, there's no way it's going to be as strong as an undamaged one surely?!

No, it won't be- not being a low pressure cast alloy, as most are.
It is definitely not repairable whilst maintaining any of the original physical properties. You can't just weld new material into a cast item. Not only is the outer face utterly mashed and missing material, the whole wheel looks absolutely buckled to fuck. I'd perhaps consider it for a coffee table, but wouldn't be finding its way anywhere near my car. Last edited by Russbmw; 03-10-2014 at 04:45 PM.. |

I think you would find any reputable repairer unwilling to go anywhere near this wheel and if you did manage to get someone to "repair" it, it would be nowhere near the guidelines of strength/integrity etc! |

I was meant to say I still wouldn't use it but must have forgot.
No it would never be as strong but it could be done. Use them as wheels for a tricycle or something, not on a car though. |

btw - I emailed the seller to ask about the damage and could it be repaired or polished out... his reply... "I'm not to sure I spoke to someone in London who said they can repair it a welder" I think he's also ended the auction now. |
