Motorcycle Insurance
Hi all,
I have a very unique scooter, and I'm having a hell of a time getting it insured. Looking for an agreed value policy, well above NADA value (heavily modified etc). Tried Haggerty and Grundy, no luck. Anyone have a good company they use? |

Well, I doubt many people have seen one of these before, unless in stock form (which is rare enough):
Italjet Dragster 180cc. Liquid cooled 2-stroke. Hub Center steering. Heavily modified. It's a beast. More photos here: http://s117.photobucket.com/user/Gle...ljet%205-10-14 |

My view on bike insurance is that you pay for the bike in full and then just get liability. I pay $97/year for both of my bikes. If I lay it down, I'll just pay out of pocket to repair it. If it gets stolen, then I'll buy another one with the money I saved on insurance.

My bikes are paid, but I can't stomach the possibility of total loss on it in an accident or theft. I spent quite a while getting them free and clear, and don't want to start over in the event of a loss.

I spent about $35k building a custom soft tail in 2001. State Farm covers for about 500/yr. No medical, I just had to give them a picture for their records. I laid it down once, but didn't bother with getting insurance to cover the repaint.
