How do you access the lower M-Sport Grill?

The car is a 2014 435i M-Sport.

I'm trying to replace the center air intake grill (#5 in first image) because it was damage by a rock or some ice.

But the bottom air duct (#3 in the second image) is not cooperating. It needs to come out so I can get to the grill but there is no obvious way to remove it. I'm beginning to wonder if the entire bumper may need to be removed to replace the grill.

Anyone know how to remove the bottom air duct which is behind the air intake grill (hopefully without removing the bumper)?

Thanks!

Mine was broken by pizza box. Your dealer has to take the whole bumper off.

Thanks.

I'm sure you can DIY, but it's a project way out of my expertise.

In looking at it, it isn't obvious how the bumper comes off and there doesn't seem to be any maintenance manuals out for the 4 Series yet.

On a good note, after taking off the belly pan and running into my road block, I found the missing piece of the grill, so for now I think I'll just glue it back together.
