Does December have the best lease rates?

My local dealer told me that the month of December will always have the best lease rates since BMW wants to sell as many cars as possible to end the year on a good note. Anybody find this to be true?

Its been widely reported that the December lease rates are the same as from November (and October). Maybe they'll be better in January.

Not nec. but the rates are pretty good because that is semi-true.

I think bmw's running a 4.9% rate right now on their website. Go check it out.

I asked a friend in the retail auto business when is the best time of year to buy a car. He told me that the week between Chrismas and New Years is the best (and even a week past New Years) because dealerships stand to win year-end bonuses based on hitting sales goals.

So I took his advice and went 'window' shopping last year after Christmas, and came across great deal after great deal. I finally caved in and drove home an M Roadster after the salesmanmade me an offer I coudn't refuse.
