M2 CS Colour voting
So as we know there are 4 colour options, if you had to get the M2 CS, what colour would you go with? And please tell why.
- Black Sapphire Metallic - Brooklyn Grey - Portimao Blue - Velvet Blue ($3600) I just wanna see what we are all liking here. |

For a car that I overall feel is a little disappointing, by far the most disappointing part is the color options. I think you have to go Velvet Blue because everything else sucks. But Velvet Blue is pretty lame too. Would have loved to see an orange or yellow on one of these.

All colors should have been bespoke.
I'm not getting the CS, but only Velvet. You can get a regular car is the other colors. My ordered M2 is Twilight Purple.

Me and my best friend had on order a fully loaded M2, one in Skyscraper and one in Twilight.
After M2 CS launch we both cancelled the M2 and upgraded to the CS, both cars in Brooklyn Grey, with ACC. I think it looks great in all colors so it is just a matter of preference |

I still don't understand the reasoning offering 2 blues
They should have skipped Portimao , and instead chosen some shade of White. Or vice versa and Axed Velvet . & In its place an Orange/Red or Green

This, because you can get a regular M2 in the other colors.

I personally like velvet blue, but it is a weird color.
Nobody is ever gonna say "man I want to buy that M2CS but its Portimao Blue" They could definitely say that about velvet.

with the F87 you had the added variable of transmission choice beyond color and CCBs. like for like data is difficult due to the wild fluctuations in used values, but the few like for likes i can see certainly support misanos going for a premium: Similar mile non-CCB 6 speed (bsm vs misano) https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2020-bmw-m2-cs-53/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2020-bmw-m2-cs-48/ heres a summary of the data. BSM, to your point, outperforms misano. is that a function of preference, or production? does it matter? either way, at 4, N is still low to prove a trend. i'll also note that the only one non-misano car has been bid over 100k, vs 4 misano: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2020-bmw-m2-cs-51/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2020-bmw-m2-cs-32/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2020-bmw-m2cs-3/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2020-bmw-m2-cs-6/ https://bringatrailer.com/listing/20...-competiton-5/ alright, what about miles? well that is interesting... misano, at the largest sample size (n=14), has the second lowest average milage. bsm at the smallest sample size (n=4) has both the lowest average mileage as well as the highest average sales price. conclusions?
all in, im standing by my original point. if you want a consistently high sales price with a large pool of potential buyers, get velvet. is there merit in just picking what is likely to be the lowest production? potentially. best thing you can do? not drive the thing. |

I would say that. I would only get the CS in Velvet. Its the only bespoke color, so it's the only color to have if you want a special car. Like the regular M2. If you want a special car, you order individual colors.

I'm not talking about ordering the car, I'm talking about selling it to the 2nd owner.
