A muffler delete technically does not add modified or after market products. Has anyone done this on a g87 and if so, how does it sound?

In my personal opinion, muffler deletes are meant for Honda Civics (no offense). They are raspy and loud and will drone on certain RPMs.

If you want a louder exhaust, I recommend you invest in a real exhaust that will make the car louder and add more volume to the mid-RPM range.

Dont forget pissing off your neighbors and inviting the PoPo...

With the catted highflow downpipes, Valvetronic catback and stage 2 tune (and the natural burbles and pops), I unintentionally and unwantingly invited three sheriffs to my neighborhood when doing some data logs with the fresh tune. I will say the sound was extremely loud (it was a cooler South Florida night so the sound was amplified).

Here is a list of things I plan on adding and am hoping if anyone here could help point out what will void a warranty if I were to take it in for service or a repair.

HAS lowering kit
Yellow drl
Spacers
Mid pipe
Axleback exhaust
Intake
Jb4 tune
Downpipe

Thanks in advance!

Mods do NOT void the warranty. If the mod you've done causes damage or problems that require fixing, then BMW can deny warranty coverage. They'll fix it, but you'll pay for it. And your warranty STILL won't be "void". The warranty will not apply to mod-caused problems or damage, that's all BMW can do about your mods.

Go to FTC.gov & look up the case where BMW/Mini settled with the FTC for denying to cover/requiring owners to use OEM parts & Mini dealers to perform the repairs for warranty coverage. BMW/Mini lost - Magnussen Act permits the user to use any parts they want to on their cars - have the repairs done ANYWHERE they want - and warranty repairs cannot be denied unless the part itself causes the issue. Period.

The only way BMW can require those things is if they provide the parts for FREE. (Read the article.)

I had an F87 with aftermarket downpipe, FMIC, yellow DRLs, the metal induction pipes, Dinan coils, speakers, amps, coilovers, lightbulbs, cold air intakes and even tuned. And the dealer knew it all - didn't even buy the car from them. And while the car was under warranty, all of my repairs related to covered maintenance were never, ever denied "because of mods". My dealer even knew not to touch the ECU because the car was tuned.

And I understood if any of the mods caused a problem, I knew any repairs would not be covered under warranty. That was a risk I was willing to take. (I didn't even know the car was modded when I bought it & didn't care once I found out.) I never had a problem/issue arise that needed repair other than usual maintenance - car ran like a champ!

Anyone tells you different, don't listen to them. Read the Magnussen Act yourself, know your rights & if your dealer refuses to cover a repair simply because of the existence of a mod - contact BMW or get an attorney to do it for you. Surely you could find one that can write you a letter re: Magnussen & its applicability to your situation for a nominal fee.

Your mod causes the issue - different animal entirely & BMW is well within their rights to deny you a covered repair. And a lawyer will tell you as much.

Happy modding dude - it's YOUR car! You have every right to do whatever you want to it. Buy quality, get things installed at QUALITY shops - preferably experienced, reputable speed shops that specialize in BMWs & just drive & have fun!

Skimp on quality, expertise & price - you'll pay the price in the end.

The presence of aftermarket non-BMW approved/certified parts can invalidate some of the warranty (exhaust or engine)l

From the warranty booklet from under the WHAT IS NOT COVERED section:

Modification of the vehicle or installation of any performance accessories or components attached to the vehicle which alters the original engineering and/or operating specifications or which results in damage to the other original components, electrical interference, electrical short, radio static, water leaks and wind noise.

Installing exhaust mods which produce more power certainly alters the original engineering and/or operation specifications.

If the engine manifests some problem/issue almost certainly the presence of any exhaust mod will be blamed. BMW doesn't test after exhaust mods it only tests what is installed at the factory. And it can based on the results of its testing offer a 4 year/50K mile warranty.

To expect BMW to extend warranty coverage with non-BMW parts used to modify such a critical system as the exhaust is almost certainly not going to happen.
If you install an aftermarket exhaust behind the stock cats, it will not void your Federal Emissions Warranty. As none of the emissions equipment was touched
