I am not in Cali, but that is what I do. Just keep it in the trunk with a bracket. In Vermont both plate and tint are not something you can get pulled over for, but are something they will add to the ticket if you get pulled over for speeding or similar.

Alright. So I went with slybrackets. I like the fit and look very much. To me it’s better than the tow hook mount. It’s in intrusive and easy to install. Let me know what you guys think

I agree it is better than a tow hook but think it looks significantly better plateless. If you have to run one can’t do better… but just don’t run one!

I’ve gotten tickets in the past for it. With the car already being a cop magnet. I don’t want to give an excuse for police to pull me over just to get a good luck at it. Waste my time, and then hit me with a fine

I installed a tow hook mounted plate holder from "rho-plate". Pretty solid construction and weights 0.5lbs (without the plate). It also doesn't obstruct lower radiator openings.
