Excellent looking and sounding. I’d opt in for this ER mid over the AA EL mid just from a price and quality standpoint alone imo.

ER makes great stuff- had their crossover and the quality was top notch.

Contrary to all the aftermarket components on the market, BMW did a pretty damn fine job on the stock exaust system out of the box. It's just a bit too tame for my liking. However, removing the secondaries and resonator gives the M2 a bit more attitude/aggressive sound.

Not going to see any power gains on street vehicles with midpipes, we've always claimed this. The benefits will be there for those going higher boost.

I definitely realize this. It would just be interesting to see if there are any gains as the marketing by ER suggests there is some horsepower to be had. I would love to hear a sound clip with the OEM rear setup.

Just ordered the crossover pipe from you guys to go with the mid pipe that's already on the vehicle. Throw a surprise in the box lol.

ARG. I missed this. Going to have to wait for another sale.

Here's a clip from my car, skip to 9:17 mark.
With the valves closed, it sounds stock, with the valves fully open, you're in for a treat.

Just wanted to post an update. Went to EAS yesterday and got the mid pipe installed!

First impressions:
With valves closed its hard to tell from inside the cabin that there is any change in volume or tone. To me this was super important as cruising around town I didn't want to attract too much attention to myself.

With valves open, its pretty glorious. I have a hard time not flooring it when I see a tunel lol. Its significantly louder and also the upshifts crack and the tone IMO is greatly improved (a lot more rich lower tones than high and raspy).

I would say for ~$1,000 it was 100% worth it just for the sound. On track I have a hard time hearing the engine and moving forward I doubt this will be an issue

I cannot wait! Just need a car! Been staring at the ER box for a good month or more now.

I finally installed the ER Midpipe along with the SST valve controller. I was pleasantly surprised by the significant difference this midpipe made. Not only did it enhance the sound, but it also added a deep, resonant tone. Cold starts are surprisingly loud, lol. I usually drive my car in Sport+ mode, and it sounds fantastic. In Sport+ mode, with the SST valve controller, you can really hear the pops and burbles as you open the valves 100%. After a few days, I realized that I enjoy driving the car in Sport+ mode, with the valves set to OEM settings using the valve controller. If I want to be really rowdy and fully open the valves, I can easily do that. I was able to get both the ER midpipe and SST valve controller for a better price together compared to some of the other midpipes I had been considering.

How much room did you have between the midpipe and the stock brace? Enough to feel confident they'll never touch? This is my only concern as a few have needed to readjust this particularly close spot on the exhaust.

I have a good 3/8” gap between the midpipe and the stock brace. I’m confident that there won’t be any issues with them touching. When I installed the midpipe, I mocked up everything without tightening anything down. Then, I put the brace on and wedged a 3/4” piece of wood between the brace and the midpipe. After torquing everything down and removing the piece of wood, I was left with a good space between them that I’m pretty sure I won’t have any problems with. Hope this helps.

Is there any drone in either mode? I assume it didn’t pop any codes either

Honestly I don't notice any, with the valves open and a very slight throttle theres a hair but honestly its too glorious to car. I am legit shocked I have not been pulled over when going full throttle.

I'm at Buttonwillow Raceway this weekend and will see if a friend can get me doing a drive by on the straight.
