Besides the steering wheel, is there any big differences between '24 and '25 M240i?
I love the steering wheel of the '25, so I'm half tempted to just order new, but I love/hate the amount of packages/customization involved making it more likely that I'll have to order and wait instead of finding one at a dealer. The frugal in me loves a good deal and sees '24 xDrives hitting low $50k marks, so outside of the steering wheel upgrade, was there any major changes to the '25 MY? I basically want a fully loaded ride, which new would put me over $60k.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6t3O73-Swy4 He goes over all the small changes. In addition to the steering wheel, 2025 models have idrive 8.5. That might be nice for some features, but it also means you can’t code with BimmerCode anymore. It is severely locked down compared to idrive 8 in the 2024 and prior models. |

I can’t say I know much on that front, but reading through some other threads on this forums, my take away was the general consensus is it is very unlikely there will be progress. The new system requires authentication with BMW’s servers to get approval for changes to be made. Custom coding changes can’t be made offline anymore. It’s no longer simply a question of finding an exploit in the vehicles firmware, but requires a far more advanced hack on BMW’s backend.

And even worse for us as consumers if something breaks and we want to replace the part, we have to go in to the dealer to get it coded to the vehicle, adding unnecessary costs. |

I posted all the functions that can be coded on 2025 M240, its still a good amount but certain things are locked off. IMO still worth it to have bimmercode in the 2025 model.
https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...&postcount=129 2025 has far better exterior look (on most colors) without the black lower panel paint. Steering wheel is much better looking, but possible to retrofit the new wheel to older car. I drive 8.5 is significantly faster hardware and better overall software than 8 Interior dash is "cleaner" with the new design, but that's subjective. Carbon factory trim available. Leather console knee pads pretty minor (but I think that's different? ) Annoyingly for me these pads are the same color in every car, and don't match my cognac interior. But like I said you cant really notice them without looking for it.

When did you order? Can't imagine it would take too long. The added benefit of a warranty is also very compelling. Haven't had a warranty on my car in so long. Gonna be real great not having to drop $500+ every other month on something besides mods.

i prefer the 24 interior and ambient lighting, but this is subjective (the only feature i like better on the 25 is the steering wheel).
However, unless you are getting a black color, i prefer the exterior of 25 much more without the lower black panel (if you are getting it in black then 24 is my choice mainly for the interior) |

Biggest changes as noted:
Interested if anything will change in 2026. I'm definitely getting a 2023+ as I prefer iDrive 8, but how much extra is the 2025 worth is the $50K question haha. |

From what I have heard iDrive 8 is noticeably slower than 8.5.
I would be interested if there was a youtube video that compared the two, I havent seen one. The slower performance, if significant, will only get more apparent over time as even better infotainment is released and demands on the system by android auto and carplay increase. I only present this as something to consider when actively choosing the slower hardware. Some may not have a problem with this.
