Is that why I couldn't understand any of it? Honestly, I couldn't figure it out at all.

Can someone share some thoughts on why the new M2 has lower lap time per TH than the F87 CS? I am not familiar with the F87 platform besides its specs, but the spec of the G87 is pretty much match the F87 CS, save for the weight figures, so I am having hard time understanding.

Thank you in advance.

OF course, but what does the Competition Sport provide to the F87 that makes it faster is my question. What is missing from the G87 compared to that CS?

G87 has about the same power, similar adaptive suspension components, significantly more tires, improved suspension geometry, and manual-to-manual. Just because of the tires, I would have hoped it would be as fast if not faster than the F87 CS. Obviously, I was wrong. I am trying to understand the differences, related to one being named "CS", that make the F87 faster.

It's 1 track. The base G87 will be faster than the F87 CS on some tracks, slower on others. Read this:

This is why I posted that list is rather pointless as all testing is done over multiple years. Track conditions change and that affects lap times alot more than most people think. I have gone 2 seconds slower at the same track, or read 2 seconds faster depending on weather alone.
