Can't really tell but that's a bummer if it's the same shape as the regular 2 series. It's wide but still has the same shape, that sucks to me.

The renderings look flat as they don’t show enough depth and also no scale perspective without someone standing nearby
This video shows how the car looks like, the front air intakes are massive, the front hood power dome seems bigger than the M240i, much deeper side skirts and the front and rear fenders are on another level Last edited by Karmic Man; 06-16-2022 at 09:51 PM.. |

I think the front end bumper/splitter is to rectangular it would be more in harmony if it was more organic with homage to previous models.

Perhaps this picture will convince you that the rear fenders are indeed wider than the base 2 series

Good job on the render...fender vents probably off from the arrow shaped things on the camo car, but generally where it's probably going. Ugly (the car, not the render job) as it may be, it's the best BMW has on offer.

I test drove the M240i a few weeks ago and was in and out without having too much time to take a good look of the design, especially the rear end. Honestly, it does not look good in the pictures.
Last week, I saw one in Europe and spent a few minutes taking a look of every detail and in person, it looks soooo much better from every angle. It was that purple color, just a beautiful car and appropriate design for what it is. I liked the fender flares on the G42, present but with a lot of room for the G87. I am sure the G87 fenders are going to be huge and sexy. I love the F87 looks and what it does however, I expect that the G87 will be on a totally different level. Never thought of letting my F87 go however, will think about it in a few years after the LCI… |

Except for the front fender vents & bulging rocker panels - the car looks great.

Great job rendering but if this is the way it goes, I'm pretty done with the 2-series platform. Already dislike the new M240. The design language doesn't do it for me.

front bumper design
Loving the thickness and really like the rear end, Even looking at all the track footage and walk arounds of the new M2 the front for me is more square than I would have anticipated looking at the 240i.
Still looking forward to getting our one and getting into the design side of things to sharpen up the looks. I didn't like the look of the g42 until I saw it in the flesh so its safe to say I am keeping an open mind |

Good render tbh, I agree with what others have already said will have to see in person. Photos and renders have a hard time capturing the sharp edges and boxy looks of some cars. For example a co-worker drives an i8 and in photos the car does not look nearly as good as it does it person. The edges and fine details really stand out when your looking at them in person.

Just like they compared the F87 to the 2002, I think the design they're going for here is e30 boxy-ness. Maybe some E9 flare. As such, I expect the fenders to seem much more pronounced. I'm down with this style choice.
Like the F87, there will be a special version with a different hood because that hood is straight up boring. Hopefully it's functional aero and not a stupid light-up engine window.
