Stop Sale for Front Left Strut Tower

Unrelated to much, but I took delivery of my car yesterday (I see why y'all are into these cars now!) and I'm slowly digging through all the paperwork.

As I was filing stuff away, I found this little gem. Apparently there is a VDC! Who knew??

My car was affected and I have delivery booked for Monday afternoon.

The fix or inspection must have been pretty minor

I had an M2 out yesterday for the day to see what I thought (it’s really rather excellent to be honest)

However over some bumps at slow speed I did hear a knocking noise from the front end. Now I’m wondering if it could have been relayed to this? I guess I’ll never know.

Anyways the car was fantastic.

The question is, do you know if your car had a workorder for the repair?
Or was it inspected and found good then released?

That is for the strut tower issue even though they make no mention of it. Here's an example, 'Federbeindom vorn nacharbeiten' translated to English is 'Rework the spring strut dome in front'.

Ya I got the same defect code. My cars been at Oxnard Port/VDC since 6/16 with the strut issue.

Didnt pop up on those sites until today
Hopefully it means that they updated the work order and will fix our cars this week.

Do you guys have the ZTK package on this stop sale? Mine came on the same ship as you guys 6/16, has the ZTK option and stop sale. Just wondering if its just ZTK cars.

The ZTK delineation option is for the G42 M240. No such option (to add vs not add) on the G87.

It’s not anything remotely scientific, the One’s that I could find with the same code pop up, usually their VIN are with-in 8PD5xxxx, I understand different regions may have different set sequence of VIN so I only lookup handful of 2 series on the West coast that still in “transit”, found 5 out 7 M240 and 1 additional 230 having the same code.

There are two other M240 delivered to my Dealership and third to other Dealership in the area last week, all offloaded on 6/16 without Stop Sale and their VIN are just ahead of that or mine. I just so happen to pick the good one’s out of bunch.
