We've all been there when someone else drives your car for whatever reason and completely changes your seat's setting! It's such a pain to re-adjust, but this video will give you a consistent way to re-adjust your seat..

The i8 is good. I enjoy driving it. The seat adjusts well, too.

Nah, feel free to drop it if it's comfortable that way. Those are just guidelines. The "4 fingers from the roof" just positions you to see through the middle of the glass. I think the main thing that I follow is sitting close enough to hang my hands over the wheel. That took a little getting used to since I used to sit further away from the wheel

I think that's what most people prefer, but I actually like to adjust the seat as high as it will go without hitting my head which is usually the highest setting. I'm only 5'9" so I like to pretend I'm 6 feet tall.

I tried this today, however I must have an odd body configuration.

Putting the seat close enough that my wrists can rest over the wheel puts my knees up by my chest, in a really uncomfortable position.

Trying the seat further back (to solve the leg issue) with the seatback angled forward more (to put my arms closer) is also really quite uncomfortable.

In good news, with the seat at its very lowest setting, my head is just under four fingers from the roof.

My brother is 6'4" and he has to drop his seat completely to the floor as well.. He typically has to buy cars without sun roofs so he has head clearance.

The position I ended up with certainly puts me closer to the wheel than I was before though and I definitely noticed an improvement in the feeling of control that I have.. almost as if I'm more involved with the car/road.

Yeah, I'm 6'1", so not quite so much of an issue for me.

Awesome! I think the best advice I can give is that what's "recommended" is just a guideline you have to find what's right for you

I think the only hard and fast rule is don't lock out your elbows, don't lock out your knees. You're not able to have as fine control as you should, and if you're in an accident, having locked out elbows and/or knees is going to make some some seriously bad injuries.
