Halpp What is this broken part? I can hear a boost leak
2013 335i N55
Running stage 2 e30 for about 5k miles. I hear some serious leakage when I hit boost. Drove it home out of boost no problem. Check under the hood and see this piece. But I can't see where it broke from. Granted it's dark out. I took it off of the wire it was supported near the charge pipe. Sound is def coming from the drivers side. Not sure if this broken piece is the cause but this is the first thing I saw. Going to check the cp to intercooler connection after work Thanks! Last edited by jew82; 01-11-2022 at 07:42 PM.. |

I see you added more pictures but i can't tell what is "missing" or broken from those... It should be obvious if something broke off when you discovered it. Check your CP connections and all the obvious stuff first... I have no idea what you are trying to circle in the pictures. Something looks installed incorrectly as well (probably unrelated) because that wire is pinched.

I know it should be obvious. I circled the wire below because this broken piece was connect to it with the plastic crimp. So it seemed that it would come from that area. But I see nothing near it but those empty threaded holes I put arrows towards.

Ok I pissed the wife off and went outside to poke around, I couldn't find exactly what you have there, I'm wondering if it's something tucked away out of easy view that popped and became visible.
I'm going to scout around on realoem.com diagrams if I can fine anything for ya I'm not seeing much on the diagrams but it's harder not knowing exactly what we have here lol |

Yes. I just don't understand why this piece was attached to the wire which seems like it's not near the box. Very strange. All the vaccum lines look attached that I can see. weird

In your 2nd picture in your 1st post, it looks like it was just a C shaped wire harness holder, to hold the harness in position in the engine bay where this bracket was bolted, and the bolt came loose and fell out.

I couldn't get a clear picture but I found something similar in my bay deep down, that holds a wire, looks very similar, if that's the part, it wouldn't be causing the issue you're having as it's just a grommet

Yeah I checked it all. I'm going to remove the charge pipe and look around some more with room. That does look like it. Not sure what it does. That bolt looks like what came loose. I did find a bolt on my undercarriage. Thanks for the and time bro!

I took the cp off and checked the oring and connections and fixed it! But now the whistle of the turbo is more than before. That broken part I have no idea where it came from. I looked at that as the problem bc why the heck was it there and I never saw it earlier. Anyways all is good. Now to find my oil leak. 105000 miles. Already did the ofhg. Guessing the oil pan. Fun car nonetheless!
