I learned when I got mine that this is a misconception. PCD can be routed through any of the ports. Mine came in through Baltimore, after the ship stopped in Brunswick and/or Charleston, I can't remember.

Interesting! The other posts that I've found about people getting PCD have said their cars arrived in Brunswick. That makes things a little more confusing ha.

I'm still curious to hear from someone more knowledgeable about the boat schedules. From what I've found, one is leaving tomorrow so there's no chance my car is on that one. But I haven't been able to find one that leaves between tomorrow and the beginning of October.

I’m starting to think the delays are a result of ships not being able to get into and unload at the ports

Long Beach, for example, right now has a two week wait from the time it arrives at the port to be able to access the dock and unload

don't think BMW drops at Long Beach. There's a vehicle processing center in Oxnard that gets vehicles that arrive at Port Hueneme.

Mercedes as a vehicle processing center in Long Beach.

Same, was looking at some of the schedules for NYC and if I'm understanding the schedules correctly, at this the earliest I could see my car being offloaded in NYC (Newark) is October 2nd, and that's just getting to port. Other cities on the East Coast may see earlier deliveries. Here's the schedule for the grand sapphire from Veracruz leaving tomorrow, also stops in Altamira on Sept 10-11. I doubt any of us will be on this ship.

Grand Sapphire

VERACRUZ, MEXICO
05 Sept-05 Sept

GALVESTON,TX
07 Sept-08 Sept

ALTAMIRA, MEXICO
10 Sept-11 Sept

BRUNSWICK, GA
15 Sept-15 Sept

BALTIMORE, MD
17 Sept

This is the earliest possibility for NYC from what I can understand.
Morning composer leaves on Sept 9, may be able to connect with Torino from Panama

Morning Composer

VERACRUZ, MEXICO
09 Sept-09 Sept

MANZANILLO, PANAMA
13 Sept-14 Sept

Torino

MANZANILLO, PA
PANAMA
25 Sept-26 Sept

SAVANNAH, GA
U.S.A.
30 Sept-30 Sept

BALTIMORE, MD
02 Oct-02 Oct

NEW YORK, NY
04 Oct-04 Oct

BREMERHAVEN, GERMANY
15 Oct-16 Oct

ZEEBRUGGE, BELGIUM
18 Oct-19 Oct

SOUTHAMPTON, UNITED KINGDOM
21 Oct-21 Oct

Assuming BMW is using Wallenius Wilhelmsen as someone mentioned earlier, here's the website I used: https://www.walleniuswilhelmsen.com/schedules

Maybe someone else can make better sense of it

Right. So in regards to the second schedule you posted, does that mean the car would get picked up in Veracruz by the Morning Composer and dropped off in Panama to get loaded on the Torino? That's the part that confuses me. Because there are a bunch of boats that go from Veracruz to Panama and then the trip back to the US east coast seems to be on a different boat.

That's what I'm assuming based on what others have said. Honestly, this is first time I've tried tracking a vehicle through shipping routes, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. Just thought I'd share what I'm seeing...

Happy Labor Day everyone (in the US that is)! I had a major positive development with my car this morning. According to My Garage, my status is now "In Transit" -- which I understand means on a vessel and bound for a US port. From August 22 (exactly two weeks ago) until this morning, I was stuck at Ready for Transport. I knew that day that this status was behind, as I was advised by my dealer and My Genius that I was actually "Code 165 In Transit – Plant of Manufacture to Port of Departure." With today's update on My Garage, I moved past Ready for Transport, Awaiting Carrier Assignment, Dispatched from Factory, and At the Port.

As others have noted, a vessel left/is leaving Veracruz today, so I assume that my car is on it. I will try to reach my dealer and My Genius today (assuming they are not off for the Holiday) to see if I can confirm that I am on a vessel, and if so which one and which US port/arrival date.

Hopefully in light of this others will see similar major advancement of progress with their cars.

So do people on east coast think it is about 3-4 weeks to actually get car? I have no clue. Either way, great news for us all!

I was checking schedules and Bravery Ace was due to arrive in Veracruz tomorrow, and commonly makes a trip between Mx and New York, sometimes stopping in Jacksonville. Of course this goes against the post above about BMW using Wallenius, and our updated status about being allegedly on the ship. Sadly genius is closed today. 😭

If you moved to In Transit today, you're likely on Grand Sapphire which reaches Baltimore on September 17.

Do cars destined for dealerships in the Northeast (e.g., NY, Mass., etc.) off-load in Baltimore? I hope so, because based on the vessel schedules it seems like a much longer and more complicated (multiple ships) journey from Veracruz to Newark.
