I still find it laughable to bring Porsche into any of these comparisons. An ///M car has far more usability than any 911 or Cayman. Sure, people daily drive them, but more people daily drive their ///M cars. The assertion that the 911 is somehow daily driven more often than an M2 is absolutely absurd; most are, at best, weekend cars….and at worst, full on garage queens (…because the vast majority of P-Car owners are overly concerned about mileage and resale). Even from a financial standpoint, to build a 911 that is equivalent to a well optioned ///M in terms of feel/quality means you'll be spending another $30k in options as Porsche price gouges for EVERYTHING. I optioned up my C2S nearly $30k just to get it on par with my prior Individual M4 with full leather, etc. (…and the fact that my C2S had a base price of $117k - and a fully built price of $146k - while my most recent '17 F82 M4 was $85k-ish with most option boxes checked including Individual paint, really puts it into perspective). The reality of the times also requires that you add another $25-40k ADM to get into any non-GT 911; I was extremely lucky to know somebody with enough pull to get me a small discount on my '22 C2S. So by today's standards, a well optioned C2S will cost you $170-185k-ish while an M3/M4/M2 will still be sub-$100k or just a little over $100k under all but the most compelling circumstances (…e.g. CSL). There really is no comparison. It's like comparing the price of a Staccato versus that of a high end Sig. They aren't even close.
P.S. Base model Porsche 911 interiors are equivalent to a 328i. |

To make the M2c to the level of the M2cs, I would have been at $70-75k after wheels, suspension and a tune. Those that paid MSRP will likely not lose any money on their car, perhaps ever. Driving a car for several years without losing money does not classify as a "suckers buy" to me? Having poured money in many other cars without equal return on investment, I is actually nice to have a car that I really don't need to improve upon. FYI, both car are in bad need of exhaust.

That's a long time from now though, I'm not looking to cash in on a car 30 years from now . My point was from a users stand point . It's essentially the same car . It can crush the CS for much cheaper , and a lot of enthusiasts will enjoy that part . The CS will be a very good collector car if you don't drive it , in 30 years …it will always be worth what you buy it for today so yes wrong choice of words not a suckers bet more of an investment collectors car. |

My point is some are actually quite pleased with the level of performance that the M2cs provides. I don't think you need more as a street car. https://f87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...78&postcount=7 I commented on the difference between the M2c and M2cs yesterday in a different thread.

So I just saw a newer z4 and realized the back bumper has a bit of what the m2 has going on. But it looks way better. I think it is because the shapes are less exaggerated. Looking at the front of the z4 m40. I feel like all BMW had to do was make it look kinda like that and it would be great. Oh well. What can you do.

Initial impressions most certainly didn't blow me away, but it's growing on me.
The car isn't really being done justice with the terrible color and raw candid spy shots. Would rather consider the G87 over a G80/82. |
