Can you change song tracks from the steering wheels control on iDrive 8?
Are you able to change music tracks from the right side steering wheels controls (gloss black buttons) on the new 2023 iDrive 8 system?

yes for the US models at least
the left hand controls should be cruise control buttons while the right hand should be media/dash control buttons. the +\- on the right hand side is volume control, while the left and right arrows should prev/next song from current media |

Thanks, I know the right side steering wheel controls changes music tracks in iDrive 7, just wanted to confirm if it’s the same with iDrive 8. Some BMW genius on YouTube said those right side steering wheel controls no longer control media functions.

also a '23 owner here and can confirm the arrows work. Holding them down will fast forward/rewind the current song/selection as well

also if you just roll the wheel up and down on the right hand side of the steering wheel it will allow you to choose which form of media to choose just as you could by pressing the 3 line buttons in iDrive7. The left and right buttons will skip track or skip back just as before.

Unrelated but I didn’t feel like making a new thread for a random question: does anyone know how to auto login to iDrive 8 when you get in? I have to select my profile and enter my pin. Maybe a way to bypass that?

If you search for Driver Profile in your user manual it's all detailed there. It's a bit long-winded, so I haven't copied the details here

I’m just realizing that I must have put the second fob on my keychain and not the one that the dealer linked to the account when he hooked it up. Thanks y’all

If you press the left or right buttons beside the scroll wheel on the right hand side of the steering wheel it will allow you to choose the media source and then which station or track |
