Bmwblog on the rumoured delays..

https://www.bmwblog.com/2023/01/10/b...uction-delays/

“There’s very strong demand for the new M2 – individual customer build slots and delivery estimates are communicated to customers via their BMW retailer in the usual way,” the spokesperson told BMWBLOG. When it comes to the U.S. market, according to our sources, the production of the BMW M2 G87 is on track as well. At the time of publishing, no production delays are expected for these two markets."

There's a good reason I haven't been on Facebook in over 10 years..

What cracks me up is how the internet let one Facebook post start a misinformation campaign…the person provides no reliable source, yet folks start freaking out for no reason…

Heard so many say something to effect of…

”oh man, I’m not waiting another 5 months for my luxury sports car - I’ll go buy something else new…[waits 12 more months].”

No doubt social media is powerful, but how did we get here…

i think the problemen is the lack of allocation in the us/canada.
as soon as a little information come out, we all jump on it.
if we have our allocation, it will need more than 1 post in the uk to start a fire.

We were told the internet would usher in the Information Age but there was a mishap and we got the Misinformation Age instead

I wouldn’t call people that don’t have any purview into the allocation process being told they are not getting a car as quick as they thought they would as “evidence“.

Horatiu is very well connected to BMW. There is nothing false pertaining his article. He is an outstanding source for everything BMW.

Firstly there is no damage to control and secondly even if there was, there would be zero recognition of it, especially with BMW relaying it via a media source.

As I posted on the other thread - Facejoke is a nice propaganda forum. Bimmerpost had no reason to put that on the front page. AT ALL>

We now have BMW dealers literally all over the world reporting unofficial delays; time to acknowledge the possibility of what's beginning to look plainly obvious.

HEA demo cars will likely land on time. Even the FB guys said that. It's all of the customer specification cars that are speculated to be delayed.

There's probably a reason no customer allocations have been distributed over a month after SOP.

Once allocations arrive, including the HEA as it is allocated as well and if it is modifiable, which Game and I suspect that it will be, that will be the first customer G87 for anyone that is placed at #1.

Confirmed with my dealer in Au (and a couple of others have as well) - No delays for us here thus far. My prod date is still showing as 26 Feb. Let's hope it stays this way.

And you can still find it by scrolling down one page as if it's an actual news report. It was junk from the beginning. It still is.

Well, my dealer just gave me my production slot. Middle April, with June delivery. Previously had been told beginning of April delivery with a Feb production date. I think there unfortunately may be some truth to the delays.

Where is your dealer, and slot? So no allocation. Cause there haven’t been any in the US. My dealer told me April to May delivery. I’m in Oklahoma

Dealer is located in Germany, selling US spec. So a bit of a unique situation. This one specifically pushes a large volume of M cars
