IDrive8 -> 03/2023.37 software upgrade

Hi,

Has anyone received this update already ? if yes, would like to know what are the release notes of it or where I can find them...For now I didnt notice any changes from the 11/2022 update.
My 240i was recently in service because of a headlamp condensation issue replacement and after I picked up the car last week I noticed that they've updated the software to it as well.

But somehow myBMW app doesnt show the latest update and its release notes. It still shows the 11/2022 update which I made it via OTA myself a while ago.

Thank you!

I think, since the myBMW app didnt recognize it and I dont see any changes/upgrades in the cluster and/or infotainment sections compared to the previous 11/2022 software iteration, I just got a beta or developer version of this 03/2023.37 upgrade...
Maybe when the BMW will make it official and available through OTA the changes which comes with it will be activated in my car as well ? or maybe at least then I will be able to see its release notes in myBMW app...

There is no way BMW pushed a beta version of the software only to your car. That would be an enormous screw up on their end.

If your car was delivered with this version then that is a completely different story. OTA updates lag behind by months.

It was not delivered like this and I just had an update done before by myself via OTA (the 11/2022 one which the majority lately received it as well). I have the car since October 2022.
After they replaced my headlamp with a new one, they had to re-program the car/headlamp system because thats the usual I guess after such a replacement being done and I guess during that re-programming process the update was pushed as well.
But its very odd that I dont notice and see any changes with the car since I picked it up more than a week ago and also that myBMW app still doesnt recognizes it until now.
Maybe its just an overall bugs fixing update then ?

There are three I-Step releases each year, for each platform. March, July, and November. Dealers get the latest, while OTAs lag one cycle behind. Release notes probably wont show up to the public until July.

Any time a car is reprogrammed as part of a repair, the car will automatically receive the I-Step that is on the dealer's ISTA instance, usually the latest.

OP's car probably shipped with July 2022, got the November 2022 OTA when March 2023 was released to dealers, and got March 2023 from the repair.

thank you for the additional info on this! this makes sense then
would you also know, since I didnt notice any changes with the idrive8 system or driving feel of the car after the update, this would actually mean that this update would only include idrive 8 general system performance/stability enhacements or since the release notes arent yet released there are more changes with it which will "Activate/go live" when these notes will be released ?

I've never heard of features armed to unlock at a certain time, but then again I'm used to the older F-series platform. BMW has also done time dependent triggers such as displaying a holiday greeting during the December holidays. I think the features you see now are it. ID8 is young, expect more bug fixes with each release.

Hey folks, so I hear banded about that the '23 has iDrive 8 and a curved GLASS display. So question: is it actually glass, or just plastic?
