Has anyone been able to get their digital key from their Android phone to work?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, performed all updates both Google Play & Galaxy store, and made sure Samsung Wallet was the default payment, installed Samsung Pass, made sure NFC was enabled, checked my BMW drivers profile settings but nothing seems to work. When going through the setup from the My BMW app, it prompts to set it in the compartment (in front of the shifter) and when I do, nothing happens. Also tried the middle compartment area and nothing.

does not work till 23-07 Software is availiable and installed on your car ( end of June)... there is a service bulletin ....somone posted a time ago .. is also for g42/g20/g21/g80/g82/g81/g83/g30/g31 and so on

My CA says that digital key is standard. However the recall means that it may not be working yet. Eventually though, it should work.

I'm in the US, things may be different in other places.

I received an email with a code for setting up Digital Key for my car. However, there's a step about placing the phone in the "cell phone spot." My car doesn't have the wireless charger. Does it have a cell phone spot? Does digital key work without the wireless charger?

NFC- Reader is located where the Wireless Charger looks like the WCA(SMAV) but is only a NFC Reader
with SA 322 ( KeylessGo) it should work

Until the software can be corrected, the BMW digital key card has been removed from the car and the BMW digital key functions in the myBMW app have been temporarily
deactivated. The vehicle can still be operated with the regular key fobs.

We will contact you when the software is available and ask you contact the service department of your authorized BMW center to arrange a service appointment. Your vehicle will then receive a software update, a new BMW digital key card, and the BMW digital key functions in the myBMW app will be reactivated. The work will be performed free of charge by your authorized BMW center.

Yes, it has a cell phone spot. Yes, digital key will work without the wireless charger.

?? You shouldn't need a Pro, there's no significant difference in hardware between the two. (Not in any way that interacts with NFC or Auth, I mean).

Well pro is specifically mentioned by BMW as compatible and upon further reading, phones with ultra wide band (uwb) which only the pro has.

Unless something changed since last year, BMW Digital Key uses NFC, not UWB.

Check the last page, where both the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro are listed.

It's possible they deprecated the NFC option, which would kind of suck.
