I don't remember seeing anything about it in the car manual. This may require a mod, unfortunately.

I like the 4.0 a lot but comparing base prices it's also $33,000 more expensive than the M2. Personally it's a tough sell.

I will say, with 4 cases of citrus fruit and 100lbs of sugar in the trunk, the handling changes a little. It also probably weighs in at TH’s claimed 3900lbs at that point, too!

You must have accidentally forgot to include his criticism of the cayman GTS in your post. Honest mistake I'm sure, don't worry about it. But boy is he super biased against the Cayman GTS 4.0 right?

I don't like Throttle House, I didn't watch the video and I don't care to; but I must say, having had a 981 GT4 and a 718 Spyder alongside a F87 M2C, I can't disagree with someone arguing that the Cayman GTS is overrated (because most Porsches are). M2C was always the go to. More fun, more space, felt faster on the road, etc.
Can only imagine the GTS 4.0 would be more disappointing to me.

GTS 2.5 on the other hand, I wish I bought, but still probably not as fun as the BMW.

These days I'm only interested in Porsches that are $200K+ (GT3, GT4RS, Turbo, Turbo S, etc.).

If you can't afford those, then BMW M is the better car.

My opinions of course, and note that I do not go to the track often.

His bias towards the M2 shows in how he launches the M2 0 of the 10 levels selected. The sweet spot is #3 or 4. The M2 hooks up way better than that.

Who TF uses EU curb weight when talking about how much a car weighs in North America??? And plus they are going by Audi’s “official” spec for the RS3’s EU weight but I’m questioning it’s reported DIN weight of 3,472 pounds. I’ve seen several RS3 owners put their’s on a scale and consistently weigh over 3,600 pounds.

Obviously TH does…
(DIN and EU are not the same)

Not quite: 1800kg / 3968lbs is the EU weight which is the car in its stock form how it is sold in europe without any options (so excl. moonroof but also excl. bucket seats) but including a driver and luggage (75kg).

But whatever - it doesnt change the fact that the G87 is a fat pig

That is basically any new Porsche and even more so after the recent price increase with another one expected in the next few months.

EU can do whatever they want for weights. I go by US standards. The car fueled does not weigh more than 3900lbs by itself.

So much salt in this thread, my word. Clearly both cars are very good, but offer different experiences. As for the lap times, its not really a contest in terms of tires. 275/285 Cup2's vs 235/265 Pzero's.

Oh man…

All I am saying is that the stated weight is correct. And yes, the car by itself does not weigh more than 3900lbs.

It's ugly and barely track worthy with the stickiest tires and fasted transmission combo. What a utter failure this car is, but that's just where the brand is going.

Spec Sheets and "type R" BMW performance accessories.

Haha that "barely track worthy" beat a Cayman 718 GTS, a M2 comp and a Camaro SS 1LE. I know you're just here to troll people but man, that just makes me laugh.

I'm actually quite surprised to be honest. The SS 1LE is a very competent track car. I don't on paper see why the G87 would stake a significant win, they were both on Cup 2s even. I'm a fan of the G87 for sure, but even so... I'd like to see this matchup in a more head-to-head scenario.
