OK, honestly?
Wheels are 100% to personal taste. There's no one brand objectively better than any other, it depends on tons of factors. Anyone who says otherwise is a homer. So, I'll give you a default safe pick. The Apex VS-5RS. Start with those, figure out what you DON'T like about them, if anything, and that can guide you to what you DO like. Why the VS-5RSes? They are one of the more commonly bought aftermarket wheels, so quality is known good. They are known to fit on G87s. They have a decent variety of sizes and colors. And they aren't too expensive. They are relatively easy to clean. They aren't too heavy. Decent load rating. Some people don't like them because they are TOO common, of course. |

They didn't claim the brands they suggested are the best, they just suggested them, just as you did with Apex, just because you prefaced your suggestion with your "homer" statement doesn't make them homers for doing what you did with much less words.
I personally went with litespeed. Apex, Richland forged, and titan 7 were all on my radar, but I went with the design I liked most, despite the cost difference. |

Richland Forged
I wasn't familiar with them, but they look good. Their choice of Old English font for their name, touting aerospace ties, is curious.

I actually looked into Litespeed. The selection and colors were better, for me, from Vossen (and was able to get a better price). Actually received the rims on Tuesday. If courae, rear tires are on backorder (first choice on mega backorder, second choice was on a shorter backorder and was told by Nitto they should ship next week). As for the car, it seems to be on an extended siesta in Mexico (better than it being on a fiesta?). |

Hard to say since its a computer rendering. If you know what vendor did the rendering, I would suggest contacting them to see if these are based on an actual manufacturer's rim, and if so, who and what. |

I just ordered a set of VT Forged. Very well priced and have some really nice designs. Owner is a really cool guy. If you're interested, hit him up on instagram and tell him I sent you! They are probably the only ones right now that have the perfect flush fitment figured out for G87. I wanted good priced 1-pc monoblock wheels that had aggressive fitment and max concavity.
Did a ton of research on most of these before I pulled the trigger on the above, below are my thoughts (just my opinions!) -Edelweiss, I think they're the worst looking wheels for F8X and G8X but for some reason a lot of people like them. Not a fan -M-Performance wheels have really bad specs and still heavy/expensive. Many of the options are still cast. I would not want to run spacers or replace cast wheels with cast wheels. -HRE's are extremely overpriced and meh designs unless you're spending $15-20k. Their flow-formed only have 2 designs, both look like shit and just like the Edelweiss. Not to mention they are as expensive as smaller companies forged monoblocks. -Vossens, very overpriced again at this point, 1 piece forged start at $2.4k a piece. -BBS are fantastic but very very expensive ($2-4k per wheel for 1 piece?? cmon..). If money were no object I'd prob have a set of FI-R's. The VT Forged I went with are basically FI-R style for 1/4 the cost. -Titan7's are great, I had the TS-5 on my F87 and loved them but I wanted to switch it up. They also only offer 2 designs, both in 1-2 colors for G87 and the specs are off. Was my first choice but I wasn't happy with their offerings after speaking them on the phone for some time. -Apex are pretty nice, looked into them but didn't love the designs either. VS5R would be my pick but I see them too often on G8X now. I dont want to go to a car show and see 4 people running the same wheels as me. -Litespeed is another option someone mentioned, they look sick and are super lightweight but are $$$ for their magnesium blend. Updated the post, was way out of my budget as I refuse to pay $10k for 1-piece forged wheels. Some of their 2-3 pc setups look fantastic but will set you back over $20,000. It's really unfortunate that any wheel company that produces in the US charges $10k for 1 piece forged wheels. For me, going with a new small company like VT forged is ideal because they produce overseas for a fraction of the cost. I could care less in the end, considering they're made of the same exact aluminum and mfg process.

I am looking for wheels too. Was anyone that went with these smaller companies concerned with the quality? Most do not show any certifications on their sites. I think the reason so many people go with Apex is because of this. I have never owned Apex myself. After 700 miles I am convinced a lighter wheel is needed to get the most out of the G87 (also a set of springs).
