Wanna organize that armrest/center console? Best $20 I've spent

I found this on Amazon and decided to give it a shot, as the pics and measurements seemed like it might fit our center console. Turns out it's a perfect fit in every way.

Jaronx via Amazon. Best $20 mod ever.

Jaronx Compatible with BMW Center Console Organizer for 3 Series G20 2019-2023/4 Series G22 2021-2024, Console Organizer Tray for BMW 3 Series 2019-2023, Console Storage Box for 4 Series 2021-2024 https://a.co/d/bZlzKm0

FYI there are also coin/oddment boxes to replace the weird-looking blanks in the centre console. I got one and it's very useful.

I got mine from AliExpress but I forget exactly where. There are a few options if you search for "G20 Central Console Gear Shift Lever Storage Box". They come in left- and right-hand drive versions.

eBay has them for US$10-15. Amazon has them as well but at a significantly higher price.

Based on this post I ordered the console organizer and received the item today for my 2022 M240i... very nice fit, and good quality, and allows the console to be used for 2 tiered storage. Highly recommended!

Any tips on how to install it? Thanks.

A cheap plastic trim tool would be great for this. Just push down on the edges to pop off the original and then push in place the new storage piece.

I believe it needs to be accessed from below. There's a YT somewhere - the black piece at the armrest end comes off, the patterned metal surround lifts up then 4 screws undo to lift up the whole control panel. You can then pull out the blanks from beneath and insert the coin holder. Reassemble in reverse.

With the car still under warranty, I gave my dealer the coin holder, explained that process and they did it for free. Probably only took them 5 minutes while they were doing a service anyway. That way if any wiring was disrupted, they could fix it - but it was no problem.

If we're talking about that small storage box section, it doesn't need to be accessed from below. Just a trim tool is needed to pop it off. Did it on my own 2023 230i 🙂

I just ordered both the small center section tray (eBay US$13) and the sliding 3/4 console tray (Amazon US$14).

The small center section tray will be great for toll booth coins, chap stick, etc. The sliding tray will be better to keep frequently used things handy.

Coming from a Genesis G70, this M240i has a good bit more storage space where you need it - kudos to BMW for getting that right.

If anyone wants the small storage box with a lid, I just saw this one on Amazon for $26 with a $10 off coupon.

Sort of wish I had bought this one instead - especially if it comes with the condom shown.

Thank you for the heads-up on this tray with the lid. I ordered one with the $10 discount... I really didn't want the open tray, and this one looks like good choice if the fit and quality are satisfactory. Much appreciated...

Interested to hear how well it matches / quality etc.

I went ahead and bought the one with the lid and got it yesterday (Amazon Prime). Took about 5 minutes to install. They supply a little plastic pry tool and I just used it and another plastic tool that I had to pry the old one out from the back. I used a little bit of blue tape along the trim to protect it (just in case) from scratching. The old one eventually came out without too much fuss.

The new one just snaps back in - I pushed in the front edge first and then snapped down the back edge. Sort of in reverse of how the old one came out.

It matches the color and texture pretty well but not a perfect match. I doubt anyone would ever notice and I certainly won't. You will need to maintain some fingernail in order to open the lid easily or I guess you might be able to put a small dot of foam under it to keep it "proud" of the edge a bit to make it easier to open.

Not a lot of storage but it will hold some coin and breath mints.

Disappointed that it didn't come with the condom they showed in the picture but I guess you just can't rely on advertisements any more.

Thanks for sharing.

How snug is the existing piece? I was wondering if it might pull up/out if you attached one of those Velcro Command strips or something else super sticky and swiftly pulled straight up? The same way that the start/stop button is removed when people swap them out.

I’ve used this method to remove wheel centre caps. Works well.

It was pretty tight on mine. If you use some blue tape and 2 plastic pry tools like I did, you will not do any damage to the surrounding trim. Just go slow and not force anything.
