I've seen several in real life now, and I'm not getting used to the design at all, but they do have presence. They're so large and the features are so cartoonish that they grab attention for sure. At first I thought that black would be best to hide the weird spots, and it is, but it's also best to play up that imposing size.

The interior, though upscale, doesn't work at all, I mean not even a little. The interior is pretty though.

It's interesting how, in pictures the size doesn't look that different, but in real life it's massively different.

The popularity of the M2 is that it is the least ugly of the M sisters with the exception of maybe the M8 Competition Coupe.

Remember the good old days.

Buy one now as they'll just increase in value as the design ridiculousness continues! Think about this... Should it go another 5-10 years of tears to the eyes designs keep coming out! Lol

I don’t like the eyelashes on the wheel arches.

The don't seem as as pronounced on my M4CS? Looking at the current cars sure makes me glad everytime I go into my garage.

No, it’s as hideous as ever. Total abomination of a vehicle from every angle.

As for the M2, that’s a hell no. CS is staying in my garage for a long time at this rate from BMW. Look at the massive step back in styling, good Lord.

Seems no one ever talks about the weight of this car. The last gen was around 3200lbs and this one is over 3800lbs. Where the hell did they add 600lbs extra??

Literally everyone talks about the weight. Looks and weight seem to be the sticking points on almost every review.

What? The last gen was NOT 3200lbs. OG M2's were around 3450 and the Comps were around 3600, most of Comp increase was the heavier S55 and associated cooling. The new M2 is heavier, but not that much considering everything that goes into S58 cars and the size increase.

If you want a 3200lb M, you have to go back to the E36 M3 to get it.

I guess we all gain a little weight as we get older and it looks like BMW M2's are no exception to the rule.

These old-school Style 22 reps look pretty good on the baby blue G87. I won't comment on the rest of the car as I feel I've made myself pretty clear on that. The only thing I'll say is that if you were to purchase a G87 in black, sans all the terrible ad-on's, slam it, and add a huge wheel/tire combo it's going to have presence for sure, and parked right beside the G80/G82 it'll look closer to at home than beside any F-Series car.

Yep, the car only works in black and then barely. It’s just a big car I really have no desire to own.

I think big is ok for a lot of guys, it's the weight of the car/wheels that gets me. I like small cars because they move well without having to brute force them into submission, but that's old-school thinking for sure.

So many pictures of this car where the hood just doesn't look right. Can't quite put my finger on why.

Except pickup trucks which these cars are slowly becoming. Only about 300-600lbs away from a single cab pickup truck curb weight.

EVs are even heavier.
