The driver of the M2 in the first race was pretty bad. His launch was awful. When they switched, the other guy launched much better & the 1/4 mi was what it should've been. I agree the C8 shouldn't have put that much space on the M2 on the back stretch as everyone knows the C8 falls flat above 100 mph.

You always have to wonder how these guys are really driving these things in these "races". I've seen others really dog one car so the "favorite" really comes out ahead. Not saying it was done here, but the cars should've been much closer.

I'd like to see real drivers in these cars vs some magazine guys.

Tin foil hat time. At the 10 minute mark in the video, driver complains about the LC working fine but then "you have to do it yourself on the way back, IDK I was kinda lost." My guess is he hit the redline hard coming out of that corner. Also, notice there is no in-car footage in the M2 on the way back on that second run. Just some food for thought...

mid engine > front engine. more traction more of the time. GM realized they could not get more performance out of a front engine layout so switched it up. bmw cannot do that, and just add weight/awd to try and get power down.

its nice that the m2 was able to get somewhat close. but lets not forget the kia ev6 also beat the m2 in this same u-drag thing.

Ya, he totally fucked it for sure. I watched back 6:52 to 7:10 and you can tell something went horribly wrong for the M2. Short shifted it or double shifted it while it was in auto mode. Sad to see such a big channel posting garbage runs. If you're not comfortable with the car, let someone else drive it. OR at the very least learn it's nuances, then have a race..

I thought that too. And the M2 registered a higher G force number...

Weird...

The M2 had higher speeds but being that far back tells me the drivers didn't know what they were doing with the car. I also don't understand the "there's too many options!" luddite talk. Oh, the horror of having the option to tailor your driving experience.

Me, Edmunds. Me sit. Me push pedal. Me fast.

Hell hath no fury like an M2 owner scorned.

The first driver was definitely using the paddles, you could see it when he was talking. Most dynos of the two cars show the M2 puts more power to the wheels even though the C8 is rated higher. Also, the C8 launch control takes quite a bit of getting used to, just read threads from new owners on corvette forum. Many are getting low 3 second 0-60 when GM claims 2.8-2.9. It's obvious the driver's knew how to launch the C8 (their long-term test car) and didn't know how to launch or drive the M2.

Give me Randy Probst in the G87 so we can see what it can do.
