Right after meeting my wife I bought an MT Mustang. Drove it home and showed it to her and told her she can't drive it because it's an MT. She replied, "I grew up learning to drive an MT pickup truck, now give me the key." Faaaaaaaaak

So all BMW’s since the E9x generation (and I’m assuming the E82) had hill hold feature standard.
If anyone here is familiar with Hong Kong, I lived on Old Peak Road before moving to the US 10 years ago. My weapon of choice: a MT E46 M3. Not sure there are many steeper public roads in the world. Had a few heart in mouth moment’s, but thankfully no stalls.

Your title is my life story
Get a little practice in and as others have mentioned the built in hill hold does a great job of giving you time to transition from brake to accelerator. Can use the ebrake as well as it will let go (i frequently forget to disable it when I park) until you get more comfortable with the hill hold feature. Enjoy!
