Doesn't this require cutting wires in the car?

Theres a Youtube vid on Evolve site showing the install. It does require a bit of dicking around, including cutting one wire, but i like the idea of using your existing exhaust button.

Yeah but it’s not really a big issue, it seems scary but honestly it’s easy to remove and is completely hidden.

The Dahler exhaust controller is completely plug in play, no cutting anything.

First Mod

I just installed the dAHLer exhaust valve controller on my G87 M2.

I think BMW failed on this, but at least the remedy was simple. My 2019 Mustang has this capability from the factory. Ford calls it "track mode" in the exhaust sound settings.

I don't understand why the exhaust mode button on the center console doesn't do this from the get go. I have to set the engine to SportPlus to get the valve to fully open. What good is the switch on the center console?

Agreed, even without the AE with the Mustang going into track mode changed the tone even without the AE under load.

Keep in mind oem sport plus our valves are still only 70% open vs a controller that opens them 100%.

Yep mine didn't have AE though would have been super handy on cold starts with the long tubes and full exhaust lol, but sport + or track dramatically changed exhaust tone without valves.

So this will be similar to SST requiring remote / fob vs using oem controls like the Awron?

The MAD units are nothing other than a rebadged ReverseWerk controller (both images has the same "fireroof" typo in the ad).

Awron differs as it is OEM integrated. Other units like the SST (and Reversewerk) are standalone, meaning that they work by interrupting the valve signal - which is why they require a key remote and can't utilize the OEM center console exhaust button. This is why you'll get random soft codes for valve interruption, as it's the DME doing its job on monitoring.

I’m not too familiar with the Awron, to be honest. I’ve never actually seen anyone using one. However, our controller like the SST is plug-and-play, priced under $300, and can be controlled both from inside or outside the vehicle using a remote. Plus, you can even use your garage "Homelink" button on your mirror for added convenience.

One key advantage is that we don’t connect to the OBD at all, so if you’re using anything like a JB4 or a Wi-Fi adapter, which bootmod users often do, you won’t have any issues controlling our unit.

This isn’t just a rebranded product either. We've partnered with their team to create custom software features, like the 50% mode instead of just the open/close options they typically offer. We’ve brought their great $800 product to the U.S. market at a much more competitive price with additional features and U.S support. Plus, we're working on additional features that are set to release next year.

Go with the cheapest option. The main purpose of this is to fully open the valves and retain stock capability of closing the valves for cruising/cold starts/etc.

I agree however. There are a few units with high failure/ warranty rates so just do your due diligence "search" and buy the controller that has the options that fit your needs the best .

Spot on , awron is the best route with oem integration, I think one reason you don’t see many out there is the price point.

I am a big fan of the Dahler and own two, and installed many of them. I also hear great things about the Kies Motorsports unit too.
