Agree, I just got off of the phone with Michelin and they said the stock rear size PA5s aren’t in production for the next month. So it will be very unlikely they will be available in the US this winter.

Sucks, I did an 18 square set up on my F80 and I hated it. Even at moderate throttle it felt like the car wanted to rip them off the back end. Will have to go with Pirellis it looks like or Pilot A/S if I want to stay at the stock size.

I probably will switch tires to a winter tire or all season. It depends on if I keep the Jeep or trade it. If I keep it then I will do all seasons for driving in the cooler days but wont drive it when it does snow. It rarely does in Nashville though we see a lot of ice.

If I get rid of the jeep I will do full winters but probably just stay home when it snows lol. Or go to the nearest parking lot and do donuts hahha.

I plan on some aftermarket wheels so hopefully will have those before winter.

The part # shows as: Rdci Wheel Tire Winter B 000092 - BMW (36-11-5-A4D-827)

Wonder if maybe it's similar to the 641 m and he was just sending me that photo as a reference? I'll update Thursday.
That part number is 641M and they will not fit your car unfortunately since bolt pattern and offsets etc are different. Your dealer is stupid .

Good looking out, gents. Saved me a drive. I'll give them a shout tomorrow and get it un-effed.

My personal favorite solution is 4x front OEM wheels (take your pick) and 275/35/19 all around. I get what minn19 says but the stagger on G8x is not as big as on F8x.

Going to leave it on a trickle and drive my daughters Jeep in any snow or ice. New England is too unforgiving.

I'm not sure what to do - get all seasons on the wheels that came with the car or deal with switching wheels. Switching is such a PITA. I've done it for 10 years with Porsches...IDK.

I was looking at the Conti tires for AS.

Parts advisor sent me the attached wheel fitment for G87. Said he confirmed with their rep.

Guess we'll find out when I pick them up tomorrow.

What tires are you going with? How bad are they sunk in in the rear out of curiosity?

I'm going with a squared, aftermarket wheel & tire setup 19x9.5 +25 5x112mm 66.6mm with 275/35/19 Michelin PA5s. Our roads are cleared relatively quick of snow, so not too concerned about the slipping & sliding.

Notice how it doesn't say G87 on the first line? I'm assuming the F in F87 was just missed when they created the document. At least you brought it up to the dealer in advance so when the bolts don't line up you can have them order the correct set.

lol, these clowns. The fitment for G87 is the exact same as G80/G82. Ask them what the bolt pattern is for G87 vs what is listed for that part number...

There should be Pilot Alpin PA4 or PZero Winter in that size but apparently both hard to find.

I don't actually have a G87 yet though, lol.

It's 12.7 mm pushed in on the rear with that setup. You could correct it a bit with a spacer.

I find it so weird that winter tires seem to ALWAYS be hard to find and out of stock everywhere, for this platform.

We were having this same discussion in the first year of the G87, and we are still having it now years later.

On my E90 I could just buy some blizzaks or conti all-seasons or whatever, throw them on some mid-level BBS rims, and never think about it again.

It's not just for G8x, I have been looking for other cars and it seems like the tire mfgs are cutting the Performance Winter segment to the bone in the US. If it's not a high volume size, the pickings are slim. I may just go with AS4 and not drive in anything but a dusting of snow.

Love it here for this and so many other reasons! Having to change wheels / tires due to season is such an odd concept lol but definitely don't envy any that have to do it.

That’s what I always knew and also if you look at getBMWparts website they shared the same wheels and tires.
I have the 829m wheels winter set with the Michelin alpin 5 that i bought for my g80 , they are the best handling in snow and cold temperature but since my g80 got sold i was actually thinking to keep them if i was going to order the new 2025 g87.
Finally decided to put my order in for my g87 and keep the winter set cause they also jacked up the price to $5000 when in 2023 paid almost $3800. Crazyyyy.
