Purchasing 2023 M2 - Good price?
Hey everyone!
Looking at trading my '25 M4 for a '23 M2 today. The M2 has just about 14,000 miles and the agreed on selling price is 61,000 and they're giving me a very generous offer on my M4 that'll essentially break me even on that. The car MSRP'd for 67.5K and has: Shadowline Lighting Package Carbon Trim Active Cruise Control Parking Assistant Live Cockpit It also has a full OEM M-Performance build out (except exhaust) which I'll be taking off the car and parting out + CSL wheels. The Toronto Red color isn't my favorite though its really growing on me. Any insight on if this is a good deal for the price of the car? They're the only dealership thats been willing to pay that much for my trade-in so its making it really enticing. Thanks as always everyone. |

They're willing to make the deal because they know they're going to make decent money on both ends. What are the specs on your M4? I think the M2 is also on the higher side with the mileage and being 2 model years old.

Which M performance parts? Those are super expensive and you can probably sell the for at least 50% of what they cost and CSL wheels are $$ as well.
High 50s seems reasonable. Make another $4kish selling off those parts you don’t want |

+1 they are offering payoff to lock in the overpriced M2. Id keep shopping or offer 55 and walk. No shortage of cars now. Sellers are having to deal. Same here in Germany. Many sportscars are sitting. I was offered 7% discount on a new 911-Carerra 2025 on a configuration I generated and sent to my dealer in Stuttgart , as we are considering selling the M240.

not exactly sure why you'd want this deal unless its an easy way to reduce your payment... both auto, no carbon roof on M2, not the color you want... but i digress.
the real point here is that the cheapest M2 i can find on a nationwide basis is this BGM car at 58k with the easier to sell 6 speed, carbon roof, and lighting pack. i'd pass on your proposed M2 spec, mostly because the individual cars are starting to come online, and the general updated (dont call it an LCI!!!!) 2025 models. OG G87 models are going to end up being tough to dump down the line unless they are in desirable enthusiast specs simply because there are so damn many of them, and people will gravitate towards the updated models. meanwhile, your M4 comp xdrive will fare much better IMHO. just my $0.0002 cents. |

That's my take.
These days if nobody is offering a discount; might as well get exactly the spec you want and wait.
