However, if I'm going to spend the money on lowering the car, I do want it to be a noticeable drop. I think the H&R's achieve this better than the Eibach springs (I believe the Eibach's are 15mm, whereby the H&R's are 30mm).
I t is noticeable, but I understand the preference of what you want as well. The other thing that came into consideration is when Mischa drove an M2 that was lowered to much with the OEM dampers, it ruined the handling. The dampers weren't in their range anymore.

Was that the dealer? You can get it done for much less. All in with alignment and install it was $550.00. I live in S. California where the labor rates are through the roof as well.

I was quoted $700 for install of springs and spacers not including alignment here in San Antonio.

They shouldn't even charge for the spacers. Was it local shop or the dealer?

installing HAS and doing an alignment at home just ain't that hard. basic tools and a jack. y'all should start working on your own cars. it is very rewarding.

Update, I have now gotten quotes from 4 more shops ranging from $650-$750 not including alignment. Seems high.

That's why I'm leaning towards the Eibach now given this thread. Just a tad lower but minimizing the impact on the handling characteristic and comfort, and not scraping my steep driveway too much.

The Eibachs would be perfect for you.

I would not want to lower the front more than the rear..I want to keep the car ballance as stock. Adding front rake will lower the rear traction.
From what I see all the non HAS springs lowers the front more than the rear, only for the look.
This is precisely why the HAS exists. You can get a corner balance with a HAS kit and even adjust for driver weight to be as balanced as possible without going full coilovers and losing M Adaptive Damping.

Thumbs up

I had an Eibach Pro Kit installed yesterday, about 50 miles on the car so far. I'm very very happy with how it turned out. Ride is a little stiffer than stock, but not punishing or too stiff. It's exactly what I was looking for in terms of height, and ride quality.

This is with 15F/12R spacers.

When you drop the car more than in inch you take the dampers out of their range. Mischa even mentioned this when he drove G87s around the Ring. That is one of the reasons why I chose the Eibach.
