I taught both my kids to drive stick. My son even "bought" my first BMW from me, an '88 528e with 5 speed MT. I drove the wheels off it, "sold" it to him and he put another 100k miles on it. He was the only one who had a manual transmission car at college.
Both my kids have told me they plan to teach their kids to drive stick. All they have to do is find a vehicle with a manual transmission. |

Porsche still offers a manual… . Or for something more reasonable, BMW will let you get the M2 in manual.

If I did go back, and M2 would be at the top of my list or possibly a used well-kept E46 or E90. Heck, I'd take my '88 528e in a heartbeat as weekend car. I can dream about a 911 but that's never going to happen. I like money too much. |

When you have a class reunion (for example, 20 year), calculate what class graduated that many years before you.
For example - 20 year reunion this year is 2005. In 2005, 20 years before you would be the class of 1985. In 2005 how ancient did you think the class of 1985 were, or how “way back”were events that happened in 1985? Well, in 2025 that’s how kids look at your generation. |
