Radar Detector Hardwire - Can't get mirror housing off
Cannot seem to get the 2024 M240i mirror housing to open. There's a good video of a guy doing this to his 2023 model but I think the frame is different for the 2024 and I don't want to break it.
Has anyone done this successfully? |

You'll probably want a couple thin credit cards or objects. |

I even bought a plastic prying kit, the damn thing just won't give and I feel like I'm going to crack it 🤣 Last edited by ifound2pac; 12-25-2024 at 11:57 PM.. |

Try wedging something in the lower part first, getting it apart slightly and leaving the piece wedged in there while you work on the other part. The upper part you want to push in and you'll see it bend a little (space where there isn't a clip behind) and that will allow you to get a little wedge in there also. From there, I just used fingernails on the top wider part to push apart and it sort of just shot open. It's a pain, I've done it twice so far. |

I think it's just the luck of the draw on whether you break a clip or not. You can always buy another one and I'd wager they're not expensive. |
