Its 90% the same.

Only difference is

1.We transfer the 7 plastic speed nut clips from the front of the OEM pan to ours

2. We remove the 16mm bolts from the metal undertray and replace them with our 15mm bolt and spacers.

Checking these instructions, I see that the shop that installed the plate for me did not transfer the rubber strip, I'm pretty sure they tossed it by now!

Just in case the shop threw away the original rubber strip when they installed the plate, found a G80/G82 thread with the part number for it.

https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=2104573

Is the strip the same on all G8x? I'm guessing it is, but getbmwparts is telling me that part is not compatible with he G87.

Lol yup. Not a lot of space but was enough. Car wasn't lowered when I installed it but soon after that started the spring install.

Beautiful. If there is anything that you believe will help others I will gladly add it to the install guide.

Not sure both are necessary for the install guide.

1) I ended up with 2, stock, 10mm screws extra. It took me a few times checking to realize the 16mm/15mm bolts are behind the stock plate though the stock plate shows holes close to the bolt location. Maybe add this as a note?

2) The stock Oil Cooler plastic guard that holds the rubber trim, didn't come off without breaking nearly all the tabs as it's not really clear from underneath how it's held on. Granted this peice went to the trash but if there were pic or explanation on pulling it directly away from oil cooler maybe some of the tabs would have been saved.

Other than those 2, I can't think of anything else.

Thanks again!

I ran into this exact problem last night with my install. I counted the screws I installed probably 8 times before deciding the 2 I had extra just don't go on the new skid plate.

I had no issue unclipping the guard on the bottom it was getting it unstuck from the top that was an issue for me.

Other than that it was a pretty easy install

Got it. Ill fix it right now. Thanks.

1. Be more clear where the oem 16mm bolt is. Located behind the plastic oem shield cover.

2. Reinstall qty 12 10mm screws not 14 like oem.

I did not think you could use the rubber air strip with the MAD oil color guard. I did not think they was a slit for it. I will have to look at mine again.

I havent done my install yet. But step 7 confuses me in the manual. What two bolts are not being reused from step 2?
