G42 Knee Pads

Hi,

So I have the black with red highlight interior option on my M2, and I saw today that if you get that option on the M240i you get leather knee pads with red stitching instead of the plastic ones the M2 comes with. This then made me wonder if anyone knows if it’s possible to order these (and possibly has the part number) and swap them into an M2.

Thanks!

You would just need the VIN for a 2025 M240i that has those seats. Then you can get your dealer to look up the part number in there system.Plenty of people have done this swap for the M340i by using the leather drift knee pads from the M440i coupe. The sedan doesn’t come with them.I still find it strange that BMW didn’t include them as a standard feature for the G87.

I found the part #s for black with blue, but the site didn't have black with red listed. At $222 each side, it's pretty pricey. I picked up the M Performance Alcantara knee pads for $232 total.

Yeah it’s really odd to me that a base 230i gets the nice leather knee pads with the matching stitching, and then they go and put cheap plastic ones on the M2. That and the lack of a 360 camera option just really make no sense to me.

I appreciate your advice about the VIN and contacting a dealer!

Appreciate it!

Yeah that is a bit pricey, I was expecting it to be a similar amount to the alcantera ones. Assuming the ones with red stitching end up being costing the same as blue I might consider the alcantera ones instead. Are you happy with them?

I prefer Alcantara to leather in the interior. I have the M Performance console lid & a custom Alcantara/carbon fiber steering wheel. The knee pads complement the interior nicely.
