E46 Coupe exhaust system

Hello fellow BMW owners,

Hope you are all doing well and enjoying your machines.

I’ve come to ask for a suggestion as I’ve had my E46 coupe for a few years now and I have decided to do something i’ve been wanting to do since I got the car and that is to make her sound a little bit louder.

I am currently running the stock exhaust system with catalysators and mufflers (double piped exhaust system). What I want to do is slightly increase the sound the car makes while at the same time keep it as stock as possible (e.g keep the catalysators etc). What I would want to do is just replace the rear exhaust. Could you recommend me any rear exhausts? The engine is M54B22. I know most of you will probably tell me to remove the cat and rest of the mufflers but as a personal choice i’d prefer to keep it as clean/stock as possible.

Many thanks to all who will be kind enough to give their suggestions/advices.

Have a great week!

Try e46fanatics.com as well. A forum only for E46.

If you want a bit more sound without going overboard, I'd go for an Eisenmann or Supersprint muffler. Both sound great and keep it pretty OEM. You could also try a resonator delete if you want a little extra without touching the cats. Should be a nice upgrade!

Many thanks for the replies! We’ll see what I come up with in the next few weeks, as my coolant pump started rattling (nothing new for a BMW &#128516 so there are a few things I need to sort out first before moving on to the exhaust system.

Have a great week everyone.

As you are in Europe you might check with Schmiedmann:
