They look like 791M wheels.

What about the rear wheels?

I don't think they are 437M nor 791M.

The concavity is too shallow to be 437M.

But on the 791M, the "spoke-pairs" flare outwards towards the rims.
The spoke-pairs on this CS seem to be totally parallel, like the 829Ms are. But obviously they are not 829s, since the 829 has 9 pairs of spokes.

I do not know what these wheels are.

Edit: Also they couldn't be 437M in any case because 437M are F series wheels, so have wrong bolt pattern.

Having now spent a while looking through wheels, I think those rear wheels may be new.

My wild ass guess, is that they are new versions of the 719Ms that previously appeared in the F era.

They can't be 719Ms, because the 719M bolt pattern is incompatible with G series cars. There are also other minor differences, such as the crease pattern on the spokes near the center. And these mystery wheels are more concave than the 719Ms.

So I'm guessing sequel, just like the 930Ms are sequels to the 825Ms.

Edited this thread:Some food for thought:
  • fuel tank capacity of the G87 M2 and the G42 218i are the same: ±52 litre (same as the F87 M2 and its variants - see here); IMHO BMW M should really look into the possibility to offer a bigger fuel tank for the more powerful G87 M2 CS; R&D budgets may be tight and design-wise there may be 2er model space constraints but we're dealing here with a thirsty ±€100K high-performance car with ±500ps power output capable of being pushed hard on track and to be given the spurs in the canyons twisties, instead of a G42 218i;
  • with the G87 M2 expected to get a power bump from 460ps to 475ps in August 2024, room for positioning a rear-wheel drive G87 M2 Competition in-between the G87 M2 and the G87 M2 CS may be tight; quite likely it's financially a more profitable business case for BMW to 'channel' potential Competition buyers towards a G87 M2 CS or to upsell them a G80 M3 or G82 M4; learning from past experiences: the 2018 F87 M2 Competition featuring the S55 engine was quite a bargain due to EU-regs forcing BMW to abandon the N55 engine in the summer of 2018; must have caused some teeth-gnashing down at BMW HQ and I assume that BMW HQ wants higher profits this time around;
  • officially quoted BMW M torque and power output figures are usually conservative: there's usually more oomph than what official specs sheets indicate + as regards gearbox longevity in regularly handling high peak torque values, automatic gearboxes are a more reliable weapon of choice;
  • two Colin Chapman quotes: "Simplify, then add lightness." + "Adding power makes you faster on the straights. Subtracting weight makes you faster everywhere."; the G87 M2 is dragging way more weight around (1725 kg) than the (smaller) E46 M3 and base F87 M2 (1495 kg); xDrive + automatic transmission = even more weight;
  • "L" in "CSL" used to stand for "Leichtbau" (lightweight construction) and not for "Luxus" (luxury); the E46 M3 CSL (with SMGII transmission) weighed 1385 kg, which was 110 kg less than the base E46 M3 with manual transmission (1495 kg); also the E82 1M and base F87 M2 (manual transmission) officially weighed 1495 kg; the F87 M2 Competition weighed 1550 kg (manual transmission) (all measured by weighing standards applicable back then);
  • back in 2018 BMW M has definitely built an F87 M2 CSL prototype, powered by the in the meantime discontinued N55 engine (later the 2020 F87 M2 CS featured the S55 engine); maybe the G87 M2 offers a second chance for an M2 CSL variant as ICE final curtain call ?
