someone correct if I’m wrong… to add port installed options it needs to be done after 112 and before 150.

I guess overall that's not horrible. Especially for a unique color or simply a color that you really want.

The sales manager I've been talking to has been throwing out numbers like 6-8 months up to even a year wait from start to finish, so while I'm hoping that's massively pessimistic, I've also made peace with the fact that I may not have my car until spring.

Do you already have an allocation? I don’t see why it would possibly take anywhere close to a year even with selecting an individual color unless you don’t have an allocation and it will take your dealer a long time to get you one.

I was debating between black and Voodoo Blue for awhile and how I finally decided was I’m pretty sure if I had gone with black once I had it for 9-10 weeks I would start thinking to myself I could be taking delivery of the car in Voodoo right now if I had just been a little bit more patient. I definitely don’t want to have any regrets on a car I plan to keep for a long time.

No allocation yet, was told there are four people in front of me and to hang tight. This is the first time I've ever bought a car that wasn't already on the lot so I've been pretty nod-and-smile about the whole thing, but if it starts to feel like I'm waiting forever I might call around to some of the other dealers to see what they say.

That's the same logic I used deciding to order one vs buying 1 of the 2 they had on the lot. I'd be happy in the short term but as soon as a few months passed I'd be thinking I should have waited.

I think you are making the right decision on ordering the car exactly how you want it, plus it’s not like there are any 2025’s on dealer lots right now anyways.

It definitely wouldn’t hurt to reach out to a few other dealers though. I certainly wouldn’t be wanting to wait up to a year to get the car. I contacted a bunch until I found one that didn’t have a waiting list.

You guys know nothing about waiting.

My i4 took an extra year due to COVID, war in Ukraine and delay for 20" wheel production...

Fair enough! That being said, I really don't want to know much about waiting. I'll let the CS guys and the people who reserve at the start of the year for next years model endure the majority of waiting.

Right now, I'm just waiting for an allocation..

I'm not pressed so, I can be patient.
Waiting for the M50 taught me patience

No, it definitely didn't hurt. I found another dealer who had an allocation ready and waiting, production expected to start week of September 23rd.

I guess I'm getting an M2.

First Post - Ordered an '25 M2.

Allocation July 27
Order Received July 28

Build week - 49 for Voodoo Blue color. 5 months to me seems wild just for the build. Probably another 2-3 after that to receive it based on what others are saying here in the northeast. So total ~8 months.

Related - when i ordered my ND Miata, that took 4 months from order to receipt ~ 2 years ago from Japan. Apples to oranges just a bit of perspective.

I got my order received a day before you but I still don’t have a build week.

Did it tell you on the tracker or did you have to reach out for it?

Beware, when I checked a couple of days ago there were still only three individual M2’s in status 111 with confirmed production weeks in the U.S.
One of those three is my order, which leaves only two others, and I’ve seen more than two people just in these forums post their alleged production week recently, so somebody is being lied to.

I’ll check again today, who knows, maybe a bunch more of them have flipped into 111 status since my day off yesterday.

Edit: just checked and still only 3 individual orders in status 111 for the U.S.

I asked the genius desk about my individual order in 102 status and this was the response I got. Can you still change options in 102 status?

Yes. Your dealer cannot do it by themselves. They will have to reach out to their regional person and request a change in the order.

Newbie question - by "individual" orders, you're referring to orders with individual paint right?

Yes individual paint, excluding the frozen colors since those are a different type of individual

Just heard back from Genius and they're saying Dec 1st production date...
I don't know if I can hold off that long and might change colors if it knocks a few months off my order lol

Stick it out!

December will come whether you change your order or not. When it does you'll think 'that wasn't too long, I could have waited'.
