The red caliper is only paint. There is zero difference in parts. Also, these brakes make less noise and dust than F87 M2C and M2CS steel brakes if you can believe that. The pad surface area is actually a little smaller, same material though.

From my experience with Carbotech 1521 on F87 M2C, you can't get everything. On my M2C, I had a scary period of zero bite in heavy rain in low temps with the CT1521 pads. The dust and noise was significantly better and I also liked the reduced bite in most conditions since those brakes are crazy overboosted. However, BMW / Brembo aren't dumb and they don't put dusty pads on just to annoy you. There are often some tradeoffs. The large surface area of these brakes demand a high mu compound to satisfy ECE-R90 tests in all conditions. I'm not saying the EBC Red or iSweeps aren't good options, they may be great for this platform, but no one else reported issues with CT1521 for F87C or F10 M5 either and I immediately noticed the difference in bad weather.

Based on Chris’ post I hope the Isweep pad switch is a good decision. The M2 is our Arizona car so low temps are infrequent and we don’t drive in the rain often. Retirement offers many lifestyle scheduling options.

In any case, I’ll post my thoughts after my local shop has completed the install. Meanwhile I’m still fighting a losing brake dust battle……..

I think you'll be pleased. It was an edge case and I can believe that there is some middle ground between the CT1521 behavior and the OEM pads. Also, the caliper, brake booster, and pad shape is different on G8x so it may simply be fine even with the 1521.

The dust issue, was the worst experience of any car I’ve ever owned in 25 years and would consume my joy of driving the car knowing the aftermath cleanup ahead after a quick drive.

I Just had European Auto Source install the isweep 1500 pads on my car today. So far brake feel is identical to stock. I’ve driven 100 miles and my wheels still look black (stock pads turned my black wheels bronze brown within 25 miles). I will do a post/review with more pics asap. The pads still dust, but it’s not like the “cinnamon” like dust of the OEM pad.

so can you or someone in the community explain the difference between the isweep 1500 and 2000? By your post it seems there is more dust with the 2000s than the 1500s. Are there anymore differences? Do the 2000s have better stopping power?

The cF on the 2000s is slightly higher then the 1500s. I understand the 2000s can handle a bit more heat while dusting a little more (still less than stock) while giving up some cold initial bite. I am in TX so we don’t see super cold temps. I won’t take the car out unless it’s 50 or above in winter here. Not my daily. I have cup2s so they get slick in cold weather. So far very linear pedal feel. Good modulation and no squeal coming to a stop.

If I get a G87 (my F87 comp just got totaled so I'm thinking about it), I will have a tough choice between Endless MX72 and IS2000. No one has run MX72 on this platform that I have seen yet and iSweep is very unknown outside of G8x forums. MX72 isn't the lowest dust thing either, but it's a known quantity.

As a consumer with absolutely no financial interest in the subject, I highly recommend the iSweep 1500 brake pads if you’re replacing the OEM set.

I’ve noticed no difference in grip, stopping power etc. or whatever is the proper terminology, with a significant (emphasis) reduction in brake dust. Now, in all fairness, I don’t track and for the most part drive relatively civil compared to some of you guys.

If you’re thinking about a switch, consider this product.

Thanks for this. I was thinking about the 2000s but I think the 1500s will be just fine for my needs.

Update on the iSweep 1500.
150 miles on the new pads; wheels are still bright and clean. I resisted changing pads for 2500 miles anticipating less dusting after break in (no pun intended) but to my dismay it continued.
Anyway, this was a great decision for me however……..

After having some little-d!*k-syndrome having redneck in his giant truck road rage on me & 4 other vehicles last night on the freeway, I can confirm the iS1500s stop as well (quick, hard, whatever) as oem. I had to slam on the brakes at 80 mph to avoid this a$$hole who cut me off and slammed on his brakes. The car stopped exceptionally well, allowing me to avoid slamming into the back of this jacka$$.

Anyone running endless pads? What’s your experience with them? I’m Currently running EBC RP1 pads and not exactly happy with them. I do quite a bit of track driving (I live 45 mins from the Nurburgring and Spa) and also do a lot of high speed driving on the autobahn. I also don’t have the time to swap between pads for my sporadic trips to the Ring.
