Lucky me, it wiped out the 1200 mile service indicator, tells me I need that service immediately, and I have 269 miles on my 2024 M2 so far. I posted another thread here if anybody wants to see pics - but warning for brand new M owners: https://g87.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...9#post31426429

Haven't updated the software in a while, I wouldn't want to have to always disable it...

i ran the update today. it undid the bimmercode changes i made - auto start stop memory, and seat belt chime.

I could redo the ASS memory setting with bimmercode, but can't access the seat belt alert module.

I am holding off on the update for this reason unless there is an actual benefit from doing it. Especially since I’m lazy and never write what I changed so I will forget something.

I'm having issues with my phone staying connected to the car's WiFi, but it started before the latest update and just persisted now. I did the reset via holding power button down on the volume knob for 20-30s and it fixes it for at least that drive, but I'm hoping this isn't a recurring issue for me.

My remote start was deactivated and some other settings had to be reset. It's aggravating.

You know the most frustrating part of this? Well besides piss poor software feature release documentation...the fact that I can develop these updates to retain existing settings for M buttons etc. It's not that hard. They are just choosing not to do this for one reason or another. I hope it's not just because it's easier and they don't care.

I'm positive that they could reserve memory somewhere to store settings that would otherwise be wiped out in a software update. I mean, the rest of the world has non-destructive software updates, why did BMW choose to do this? Working in tech, my guess is sort of similar to what you said, but it's probably something in a backlog for their product manager with 100 higher priority items to address first that actually break things.

That all said, as a tech person, their overall system is pretty decent. They just need to prioritize the polish a bit more.

Heads up display is no longer working after the update. Anyone else?

Edit: it’s working now

Oh is this that thing that tells you to check the rear seat when you shut the car off because you’re a terrible parent who forgets their children? Because I have no kids and feel judged nevertheless by that message

Interested to hear if you’re able to tell the difference. Wish they’d add more details in the release notes.

Kind of worrying. I hope hud is not going to be affected to become less useful. Looking forward hearing from you.

I suppose some government entity decided that some moron might elevate the HUD into his/her line of sight which might cause a catastrophic accident.
