Update, from my sleuthing I've worked out it'll take a maximum of 27 days travelling from port of altamira to bremerhaven. And it shouldn't be at bremerhaven for more than a week, worst case scenario. And then it's about a maximum of 5 days to ship to UK and then travel to a dealer. So. Worst case scenario so that would be 39 days from today, being 26th of november, that falls in line with their delivery time line of w/c 25th and they've also got 6 extra days leeway, so in the worst case scenario I'd have 6 more days for it to board a ship to arrive by the 25th of Nov.
On the other hand, that's worst case scenario. Boats usually take around 22 days on average and can travel as fast as 16 days in peak conditions. Bremerhaven shouldn't be more than 48 hours (2 days) . And then another 96 hours (4 days) to ship to dealer in the UK. Therefore even if it updated as late as 26th October it should still arrive before 25th Nov. Those are my calculations so far, so maybe a delay isn't too likely. Guess we just continue to wait and sea. |

M2 Tracking
When I ordered my M4, I called the BMW Genius number and followed the prompts to inquire about the status of my vehicle. The person I finally spoke with was able to give me the ships name. I have done this a couple of times on BMW orders. Of course, I live in the US and I was looking for information on the ships arrival in Brunswick Georgia. Hope this helps.

Trying to make an educated guess as my order is waiting for ship assignment also. Would ours be the Altamira -> Brisbane route ones? And I'd assume it gets transported via truck to Sydney. Keen to get a timeline from you as well from Order, build date, ship assignment if that's okay. The wait is killing me!! |

Hi Rhee
Nice to see another Sydney-sider on the forum. It is quite hard to guess correctly. My timeline was all over the place (it is much harder for us to track these things because we don't have the same tracking system as the US). What I do know is that I ordered the car on 26/8, it was scheduled for week 37 production and commenced production on 11/9. Then it found its way onto the Tonsberg which left Veracruz on 14/9 and is on its way to Port Kembla via Manzanillo and Brisvegas. Due to arrive at Port Kembla on 7/11. How it is got on the ship is a bit unclear, but i have seen the screen shot from the dealer screen which shows the VIN and lists the boat and shows the arrival date. How about you ? |

Hi mate! Same here; always good to see others from Sydney
Yeh our (AUS) tracking is not ideal as our stages are aggregated into 5 only (Production, Paint Shop, Shipping, Landed, In Transit) and doesn't give us an accurate depiction of our progress to date. My timeline so far is: Order & allocation locked: 28/8 Build date & Vin: 24/9 (Week 39) Paint Shop stage since: 9/10 Dealer/SM has confirmed that the car is currently waiting for a ship so I would assume its at the docks waiting to be boarded. Considering I was week 39 production, it seems like your delivery is moving at a nice pace compared to mine.. maybe I got unlucky with shipping routes. Seems like there's an upcoming route on 5/11 from Veracruz to Port Kembla so praying that its on that at the latest. Glad yours is moving along though. It will be interesting to see how you go once the car lands in the country then to delivery from port, seems like not too much longer left for you! |
