I just saw that! Hopefully, by tomorrow or Wednesday, it'll be on its way to our port. I just called the Genius hotline and they say the ship is still on schedule to hit the port in GA on 11/5 and the vehicles should be checked in by 11/6 and at that time they can provide transport estimates to the dealerships.

I am a little skeptical that Glovis Spirit can make the journey to Georgia by Friday. Either way I am grateful it is finally making progress.

I have an M240i on the way, but I spoke with a Genius today and the 230i's have arrived here in southern California. My dealership has 2 at the processing center in Oxnard and I'm hoping mine is there too.

I don't know the normal transit time, but I'm hopeful.

What status is your build currently in?

Not sure, but I'm going to head to the dealership to get details after work. My CA told me 2 weeks ago it was waiting to be shipped, but he has yet to give me a vin or production number. I have the build sheet, but there's bo reference number on it for me to track.

Since they wouldn't give me my info I ended up looking on their website at 230i's in transit and I called the Genius based on that assuming my 240i is in transit with it.

Looks like Glovis Spirit just pulled away from Altamira!

Yep, good news! It seems reasonable to expect it to hit GA by Friday.

Any idea where the Glovis Spirit is? Last position was recorded around Palm Beach, FL, and it was due into Brunswick this morning. Brunswick no longer lists the ship under expected arrivals, but doesn't show it in port either?

I just checked. Brunswick Port lists it as having arrived 11/7 at 6:00, departing 11/7 at 18:00

I wonder if that list is "scheduled" or actually based on actual ship data. All the ship tracking websites I was looking at showed the last known position of GS to be in South Florida about 2 days ago.

Really? Neither Vesselfinder.com, nor MarineTraffic.com show it in port. I just did the UTC conversion and looks like its scheduled for 11pm EST tonight. Which site are you using, and I wonder why they are different?

Looks like it was due east of Jacksonville 1 hour ago. Looks like it will be pulling into Brunswick in the next 2 hours or so. That being said, Glovis Crown is ahead of Glovis Spirit, and with only 3 berths, it might have to anchor off the coast until a berth opens up at the car terminal

I've been told by a friend who is into ship tracking (but on the Great Lakes) that the ships use AIS when close to land, and that is how they report their position. I believe when you use a paid version it unlocks being able to track ships by GPS. As of 8:00 pm EST the free site still shows the Glovis Spirit a little way outside of the port and it claims the ship updated its location 2 min ago. The GA port site still shows it in port, but it is well past 18:00 when they said it would leave.

This is so frustrating, in a fun way, cuz I just want to know where my car is at!

Well, the Spirit is still hanging out outside of port. MarineTraffic.com shows its due in at 9:30 am, even the GA Port site has updated their info to 11/8 from 8:00 - 16:00. I wonder if it's a labor shortage that pushing the ships/cargo behind schedule?

Yep G42 Bama's car carrier, Glovis Corona did the exact same thing IIRC.
