The 1% referred to is the max allowed difference between the rear wheel and front wheel rolling diameter.
This has been bandied about, but does anyone have this in writing anywhere from BMW, is there a valid written source somewhere? Not saying it's not a fact, but can someone provide a valid source? Until then i treat it much like i treat a lot of what i read on the interweb.

I believe Subaru states there should not be more than 1/4" difference in circumference, which is basically a same size tire that's just worn down a little more than the others.

BMW giving a 0.8" difference in circumference with the ZTK package seems pretty liberal. However, with a RWD bias, and rears wearing down faster than fronts, this 0.8" difference should gradually decrease.

good catch. i actually bought the car directly from the dealer no wait time so it wasn't a custom build one

Same situation for me. I'm thinking about going 245/40/19 all around - but this car is so new, I'm scared to be the beta tester for fitment. The only brand that I can think of that will do unconditional exchanges are Continental. Meaning 245/40/19 DWS06+.

So some updates for you all!

19x10 was too large for the rear with the CFF70. However, the 19x9+28 with 255/35R19 PSS sits flush on four corners on stock suspension.

I have a set of forged wheels about to be delivered spec:

9.5" x 19" ET 35 with MPS4S 255 x 35 x 19 (alternate 285 x 30 x 19)

8.5" x 19" ET 20 with MPS4S 245 x 35 x 19
Measurements were carefully taken by the manufacturer so see how we go.

I will report back on fitment when done and post some photos

Was tempted to go for a 20" at the rear and 19" front but after lowering the ride may become to harsh

Will be lowering using MSS HAS which I’ve used on many cars

I like that wheel. What brand is it and where did you get it from?

Any pics? How's the handling compared to OEM?

The brand is Koya
Koya is based in Taiwan and has a finishing and warehouse in Australia and New Zealand
They have a wide variety of styles and colors

The wheels are first rate and they manufacture 3 ways
"Semi forged" or flow form wheels Made in Taiwan and shipped with the offsets and PCD to be matched to Customer spec on arrival
These are frequently used by local advanced driver training schools due to durability and quality plus the ability to repair if damaged hitting a ripple strip or similar

"Pre made Forged"
A fully forged wheel in preset sizes with custom offsets and PCD this I think is the best value for money at half the cost of a Custom forged set.

"Forged"
Can be custom design and made to exact Customer requirements in any offset width or PCD These are milled locally and have a much higher purchase cost but the same quality as the premade
I could have bought these in any width but did not want to send the money

This is my 3rd set of these, prior I’ve had Foregline (USA) wheels which I like more than any other brand hands down but these are double the price here and I just can’t justify the cost compared to these which are first rate and have local support plus an array of good designs

Thanks for the info! Sounds like a good company and wheel. Any idea if they ship to the US?

I will ask for you and am happy to assist if that is what you want.
I'm sure that's not going to be a problem. As they are finished in Australia they will come under the Free Trade agreement between USA and Australia therefore no import duties.
I've had quite a bit of experience with sending and receiving from USA so it's no big deal to help out
These should be on the car within a couple of weeks, and at the same time will fit an MSS HAS kit and will post photos and comments

Thanks for being willing to help out with this! Any idea what the cost might be roughly? Also, I have the 893M style wheels on my car and was hoping to go even bigger and wider with the wheels and/or tires, if possible.

The fully "pre made" forged wheels are $864 AUD each (around $636.00 USD) for a fully forged wheel which I think is exceptional
For that you can select an 8.5/9.5/10.5 in different styles and concave. The offsets will be done per customer. That is the big advantage of the pre made forged wheels as they are produced in quantities in Taiwan and shipped for finishing
By comparison the fully forged customs wheels give you more flexibility in width and designs but cost around $1600 AUD ($1170 USD) for the same build quality.
You can also get flow form wheels (and their flow form wheels are way better than the HRE flow form - I've used both) and they are only $513 AUD (around $375 USD each)

I have a set of 255x 35 x 19 MPS4S rear and 245 x 35 x 19 front waiting to be fitted BUT I think a 285 x 30 x 19 will fit the rear and the rolling circumferences are within 0.4% front/rear well in spec for xDrive.
I'll get some idea of shipping costs for you but hang back until I fit these as I'm going to push it to the max within the 1% differential between front and rear. Ideally a 295/30 and 255/35 which has zero difference in circumference but I don't think these will fit
Photo of my old E92 M3 with the sort of fitment I like that will not bottom out or scrape

Yes that’s a perfect X drive combo with identical rolling circumferences but 285/30/19 and 245/35/19 are nearly as good and only 0.4% diameter difference, well under 1% tolerance. That might work, I’ll be checking that out soon
