What BMW does not want you to know.. the M2 will outperform M3/M4.. also being cheaper. This always been the case with the M2.. how do we build the M2 without making it outshine the rest…. BMW knows what they are doing. Also being nervous about reviews testing the M2 against it’s only family members..

Regardless of what the model is called the M2 is the spiritual successor to the E92/E46 M3.

The current M3 is an M5 from the early 2000's.

Maybe that’s a problem with bmw. They should stop comparing it to their own lineup. Maybe that’s why the m2 came out ugly since they used the m4 as a basis. If they compared it to a rs3 or BW or Porsche, they would have design it to actually look good. And stop using a subpar manual when a CTR or BW which are both low volume have better ones.
On the flip side, I am intrigued how this will perform across all competitors.

I’ve had the very first of the E46, E92 and F82 M3/4 Coupes. Passed on the G82; it’s gotten too big. This may be just right. Wish it were lighter, but at least there is still a manual!

Unfortunately I have heard that from a couple folks, that their waiting list was fairly big, it doesn't hurt me at this point as I started the list and have gotten my allocation, with my dealer being pretty much.. on as far as what I've heard from them, to what I've followed here on the internet where everything you read is true..ha ha, so if they say 34 ..they have 34 ...my car will show up when the manufacturer gets them built and out to us that are buyers, wet dream or not..looks like mine will be here before to long

What would be the incintive of lying about how many people are in the order bank? I agree with what you are saying, I just can't figure out the strategy.

Think M2 is bad check out the boondoggle for the Lotus Emira. Couple years of wait listing and repeated delivery delays. It’s an industry-wide issue. Demand is high and supplies are low. Lots of unmet demand since 2020. It’ll take a couple more years to sort out.

My CA said there was 10+ people in the order bank qnd they were all paying ADM's. I later found out that both were lies, no one was paying ADM's and there were only ~6 in the order bank.

Idk this particular scenario obviously, but I've seen several cases where it can appear to be a lie, but in reality they just had bad info or marching orders from someone else about the situation.

It's easy for us to armchair and tell ourselves stories, but in the end few people actually have the facts to judge more often than not.

It is puzzling, but then again, if I had a dollar for every time a car salesman has blatantly lied to me about something totally inconsequential in the last 50 years, I'd be a billionaire.
