I've seen a lot of places say that with the engineering/durability/emissions requirements increasing they would need to redesign the manual to accommodate, and since manuals are such a small part of the market, why invest the resources? BMW said this is the last manual ICE M2, so they wouldn't be lying if they released an M2 comp and it wasn't offered with a manual. |

Yeah exactly this has nothing to do with HP limitations (manuals are running tunes without issue as well) and everything to do with people thinking that just because a M3/M4 Comp isn’t offered in manual today that a M2 Comp won’t be once the base is dropped.

We should have a manual option until the end of the decade according to some of their statements, but I wouldn't be surprised if they walked that back with some of the other manual options dropping (camaro, challenger, golf r, etc.) |

EDIT: not saying it's JUST because of engineering / torque. I was watching the SavageGeese video on the Nismo Z yesterday and that's why they dropped it from that platform, probably just confusing it. |

With all base models gone, I'm sure they will just replace the base model M4 with an M2, considering the power output, the car must be staying manual and possibly will cary a comp badge with a healthy price increase.

It seems so odd to me to hand out an extra 20hp in a car that is functionally the same as MY23 and MY24 |
