Most aliexpress ads are stolen pictures and do not represent the item you're buying, there's a ton of our photos in ads with the watermarks cropped out. You can usually tell when they use images that have awkward resolutions from the image cropping. Usually these are trading companies that deal with thousands of products, not tuning companies doing actual R&D.

If anything, you'll likely get something "in the ballpark" for fitment - most people just deal with it or blame themselves for getting duped and keep quiet about the situation (embarrassed), so we never hear the whole story.

Sometimes they get lucky and get one that fits. Take one for the team and see how it goes.

The robots are still German, and the engine and transmission come from Europe. Mexico is a point of assembly due to NAFTA, not where the car is “made”. SLP is BMWs newest state of the art plant.

I'm looking around for equal length midpipes and it's either this for like $700 or the Active Autowerke one for nearly 3 times the price. I thought AA made all of their stuff here but turns out they "design" their products here, and have them made in Taiwan or China (like every other company, cough cough Apple).

It seems the biggest visual difference is the hangar on the "squigly" side of the midpipe has a different hangar attachment point but there's pictures of the product fitted in the listing. They also seem to have a full catback exhaust system that looks very similar to the AA one but has some weird looking pointy things sticking out on seemingly random parts of the exhaust. Link to the full exhaust system: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/32568...yAdapt=glo2usa

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this specific exhaust or any products by this company? I've purchased things on AliExpress for my [...]
I am fighting a charge back on this now, there were some issues first off definitely not EL second it sounded like a diesel, they don’t want it back and even told me to cover shipping lol, alibaba didn’t really care and sided with them saying there is no proof and that my car is the issue, I save your self the headache and just buy from someone that’s already got it down.

+1

it's a big gamble, if you really want to do it, I recommend doing it on simple and inexpensive parts. its less likely to go wrong and if it does, you don't lose thousands of dollars in the process.

Pony up and honor the source. Order from Active. If you can't swing it now, just wait. The support you'll get from Active is worth the premium alone. Plus you're benefiting an American company that spent the time, money, and human sweat equity to develop these components.

Don't reward the Chinese IP thieves.
Thank you so much for your support, we spend a lot of time and money designing and developing all our products here in Miami Florida. We are the only BMW aftermarket high performance company still in business for over 43 years, that is BMW only products. We were the 1st to design the single Midpipe for the F8X M3 / M4 in 2015. Unfortunately we never patented it. Today every Chinese company has a copy, and today we have a constant battle enforcing our EL MP patent. We thank you and all that support our products and will always continue to answer our phones for any support you may need.
