G42 came out as MY22. Given that the changes we are seeing today are "LCI" level, then I would say that MY23 was also an LCI since the interior differences between MY22 and MY23 were huge...BMW went from the more typical dash layout to the large screen of idrive 8.

MY23 to MY24 had more minor interior changes/downgrades.

Are the changes in this "LCI" more substantial than the removal of the instrument cluster between MY22 and MY23?

MY22 - launch year
MY23 - interior LCI
MY24 - minor interior changes/downgrades
MY25 - BMW's "LCI"
MY29 - EOP

Having the right seat comfort and support can make a big difference in the driving experience. The new options and improvements definitely seem like they’re making the car more appealing to you now. I can see you’re sticking with the same models as before but adding some new paint options, a few updated parts and the new iDrive system.
Hopefully, they consider offering more customizable seat options in the future.

Really liking this new color and hope it comes to the States. I edited the front to get rid of the plate and M badge.

Might sway me from Thundernight.

This thread is about a BMW USA press release.

Yes, however the pictures included are misleading. We don’t get those M Sport seats, for example.

Yeah, they took pictures of the UK model and slapped them in the US press release, which is dumb AF. Didn't the UK models already have that M badge in the grill anyway?

I’d consider a M240i but (at least the 2024s) they lease at the same price as a M340i.

I ordered my M240i in February and it will be delivered in August.
Now I see the 2025 model on the configurator here in Belgium.
If I had known this, I would have waited 4 months before ordering.

See the configurator for Belgium below

LCI doesn't mean what you think. It's a formal designation. MY2025 G42 is not it, regardless of wheels, roofs, interior, or anything else.

Yup. I was fooled. The BMW press release claiming this as a "new BMW 2 Series" plus the Bimmerpost title of "LCI Facelift" - made me think that meant LCI.

Thankfully.

It's always rough when you buy a new car, and then they immediately release a way better version

Don't want to have sour grapes

The flat bottom steering wheel , and iDrive 8.5 is badass for new 2025 owners

Not enough for 22, 23, 24 owners to be envious of. Which is nice.

After driving a car with iDrive 8.5, that's the only thing out of this refresh that I would have liked.

How is this possible if they are priced like $7-$8K apart with similar specs (adaptive suspension, etc.)?

I honestly like the new Arctic Race Blue on the M340i and it would be more practical, but the MSRP price gap should be $5K max to me (especially if I'm giving up some handling due to the size/slight weight add).

No point going down that road mate. It’s an apples vs oranges comparison.

Curious on what you think are the biggest pros of 8.5?

It has the A/C permanently docked at the bottom and more customizable widgets I believe, but otherwise I was not too sure what updates would be of value. Surprised it's also a hardware change too, so it might be snappier.
