Website show two zip ties each strut. Fairly discrete. Side radiators need the same protection, though.

Ordered a full set of Zunsport screens (including the underside protector). Took a little while to get them, because the underside screen was still being developed. But I was told this, given an approximate time, and they arrived as promised. All-in-all excellent customer service.

Installation was "fiddly", but just required a bit of patience and going slow to get it done. You have to be very careful not to scratch the shiny black plastic with the clips that hold the screens in, and the clips require a little bending, test fitting and re-bending to get securely into place.

I was also a little concerned with two tiny screws that are used to hold the underside mesh in place. There are *a lot* of hoses and radiators down there! But, I had to trust that I had followed the instructions and the designers of the screen had put the holes for the screws in the correct location. So far, so good!

I managed to get through the process with one tiny scratch at the very back of one of the side openings, due to having to press *hard* on the screen to get it to clip. The first couple of attempts produced a small scratch near where the clip seats. Overall, better than I expected.

Interestingly, none of these solutions seem to take into account an opening between the middle opening and the sides. You have to dig around there to see the opening, it doesn't show up in most common picture angles. But, it is an indirect path, and would be difficult to screen. Most of the likely rock/road debris paths are covered.

My biggest concern is getting these things *off* if I want to clean behind them or gain access. Once they are on, they are on tight. Good for protection, but maybe a pain for "servicing", we'll see.

Very satisfied with the result. I didn't add pictures, because there are plenty on the thread already. Mine looks just like the others.

I'm kind of okay with the grill being in front of the braces. At most angles, the braces "disappear", giving the grill a smooth visual look, simplifying the busy front end. But either is fine, I just didn't kike all that exposed radiator area.

I put a much simpler and more flimsy version in the small opening at the bottom of my Miata, and it has probably saved a puncture a time or two (and has the scars to prove it!).

Do you mean the brake duct openings? Don't see that those provide any paths to the radiators.

That's even a concern for the stock plastic grid that sets tight to the radiator, as I've got little debris stuck in there. All in all a BMW fail.

Hard to explain, so I took some pictures:

In the first attachment, the yellow ball points to the opening, which is in front of the center grille.

In the second attachment, you can see when I stick the chrome rod (carefully) through the opening it ends up behind the right hand opening screen (red arrow)

Yeah, I went from being impressed, because it looked like the cover would unsnap and hinge, to finding out that there didn't appear to be an easy way to get it off.

Okay, gotcha. I would not be concerned with stone damage through those openings, but they will let leaves and debris in which may be hard to get out. I guees you can stick a vacuum hose through.

Yeah, I think they look good, and if they stop one holed radiator/cooler/etc., they will pay for themselves. Something is better than nothing (or very little) particularly on the underside and middle/end openings in the front.

Any idea if these would work with M2's with ACC?

ZunSport says no issues, and other members report no issues. I haven't tested it out on mine yet, but I also rarely use ACC (not a fan).

Did you zip tie it to the vertical bars next to the acc sensor?

How was the install?

I used the zip ties on ACC vertical bars. I cut the grill to the size, big enough to slide it in without remove anything of the car. Position and tied it to ACC vertical bars.

The grill size was starting at 57 cm x 15 cm. Then trim it down so that you can slide the grill in. I used Honeycomb hole 11x30mm Hex grids pattern ABS grill sheet from Amazon.

How would you rate the difficulty of this install? I'm very interested in going the DIY route since $270+ for some stainless steel mesh from Zunsport is too expensive in my opinion. Also will the zip ties damage ppf? I have the black plastic part ppf'd so I don't want that to get damaged during the install

The hard part was cutting the ABS plastic grill to size. Otherwise the installation was ever easy. I would rate it at 1, from the scale of 1 to 10.

Can the manual transmission lower center OEM plastic mesh be installed on AT cars?

Would you say that it provides enough protection? The gaps seem a little big in my opinion but if it works it works

I saw on G80/82 forums a few people have done it. It won't be a direct fit you need to trim the clips on the side and zip tie it to the transmission cooler. The end result looks pretty good imo.

I decided to give it a try and ordered the part. Haven't got it yet it's said to be shipped from Germany.

Please post some pictures when you get it and install it! Very interested in this OEM style application.

For me it's enough protection. You can go smaller size grid grill.
